The Global Compact Network Italy (GCNI) was established in 2002 to contribute to the development of the UN Global Compact in Italy. It provides support and coordination to Italian organizations that commit to share, support and implement the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption, and contribute to a more sustainable and inclusive global economy.
GCNI aims to make sustainability the main lever of change in pursuit of a future that is more efficient, more equitable and safer in the management of resources. Further, it promotes accountability, fairness and transparency in communication and corporate reporting.
In June 2013, GCNI became legally established as the Global Compact Network Italy Foundation.
