Overview

The Global Compact Network Japan (GCNJ) was launched in 2003 as an independent legal entity. It aims to promote the UN Global Compact’s Ten Principles and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and encourage further efforts to strengthen corporate social responsibility in order to achieve an inclusive society in Japan.

Understanding that we cannot manage such an ambitious responsibility through the private sector alone, GCNJ also works with multi-stakeholder groups including Government, NGOs and academia to broaden its initiatives and scope of activity.

Vision: To be a leading edge platform in advancing sustainable business practices in Japan through promoting the UN Global Compact’s Ten Principles.
