With extreme weather events such as droughts, floods, storms and wildfires showing that climate change is no longer a distant threat - adaptation can no longer be the neglected half of the climate equation. The private sector must step up by addressing their climate risks and prioritizing adaptation — not only to protect their workers and the communities they operate in but also to ensure the success of their businesses now and in the future.

This session will provide companies with the tools to get started on climate adaptation. It will enable businesses to grasp the key concepts around the topic, better understand the business case, and receive practical guidance about risk assessment and adaptation planning, from physical risk to governance, spanning their entire value chain. The session will also feature two concrete examples of companies already taking action, both through implementing an adaptation plan and providing useful adaptation services for communities.
