Global Cooperation for Crisis Response

Overview

The COVID-19 crisis underlines the importance of strong institutions and the urgent need for multilateralism and global partnerships. The world must come together around the shared goal of beating this pandemic, and leaders are called upon to act as global leaders in order to combat the crisis and work towards a more sustainable future. As the United Nations marks its 75th anniversary this year, a global pandemic affects communities and economies around the world, while support for global cooperation continues to lag.

This session will enable leaders from business, Government, and the United Nations to highlight the need for global cooperation and coordination across countries and sectors to address relief and response efforts.

Speakers will explore how business can mobilize and contribute to response efforts; actions that governments can take in coordination with business to address the impacts of the pandemic;  and how to ensure an effective multilateral response to the crisis.

  • David Nabarro, Director-General's Special Envoy on COVID-19, World Health Organization
