    I am pleased to confirm that ENGINEERING AND ENVIRONMENATL CONSULTANS (EEC) reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.
    In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business s trategy, culture and daily operations. We also commit to share this information with our stakeholders using our primary channels of communication.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • The Human Resource Department of EEC is directed by the EEC Board of Directors to adhere and implement
    the GC Principles of Human Rights in the day to day operations of EEC.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement Human Rights policies, address Human Rights risks and respond to Human Rights violations.

  • Matters or redress relating to human rights are brought up to heads of department who in turn submit it with their recommendations to the Booard.

  • Measurement of outcomes
  • Description of how the company monitors and evaluates performance.

  • Incidents of Human Rights violations are reviewed by the Board with remedial measures instituted; annual reviews are held to monitor progress.

Labour
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of labour rights for the company (i.e. labour rights-related risks and opportunities). Description of written policies, public commitments and company goals on labour rights.

  • EEC notes the relevance of labour rights with respect to ILO Core Conventions and incorporates all measures required by the Malaysian Government regarding labour rights.

  • Description of concrete actions taken by the company to implement labour policies, address labour risks and respond to labour violations.

  • EEC workforce enjoys protection relating to labour rights and the Human Resource Department is tasked to ensure the health and safety of all employees through group medical care.

  • The EEC Board of Directors monitors and evaluates performance relating to labour rights.

Environment
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of environmental protection for the company (i.e. environmental risks and opportunities). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on environmental protection.

  • Engineering and Environmental Consultants (EEC) by the very nature of its business places a premium on environmental protection. In the numerous Environmental Impact Assessments done by EEC, stress has been incorporated in the findings in line with all GC environmental Principles.

  • Description of concrete actions to implement environmental policies, address environmental risks and respond to environmental incidents.

  • EEC itself practices all that it preaches in the numerous Environmental Impact Assessments made for clients across the world.

  • Measurement of outcomes

  • EEC monitors and evaluates environmental issues on a daily basis and serious issues, if any, are brought to the attention of the Board together with remedial recommendations

Anti-Corruption
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of anti-corruption for the company (i.e. anti-corruption risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on anti-corruption.

  • In dealing with clients and suppliers, EEC has always worked against all forms of corruption, including extortion and bribery; EEC exercises zero tolerance in this respect.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement anti-corruption policies, address anti-corruption risks and respond to incidents.

  • EEC workforce on induction is instilled with the zero tolerance policy with regard to corruption.
