We are wholly independent and privately-owned and offer a full range of integrated risk management solutions, from market-entry security risk assessments, risk mitigation advice and implementation to the provision of a Response and Assistance capability (maritime and land) through our world-leading travel risk management app, Sphere, and our 24/7 Global Response Centre.

We work in partnership with our clients to develop bespoke solutions, which fully meet their needs, whilst priding ourselves on the quality of service we deliver.
We support our clients to meet their duty-of-care obligations, to make informed decisions and improve their business resilience.

Securewest Initial Approach to the 10 guiding principles of the UN Global Compact.

Our initial approach following signatory to the UN Global Compact, was to establish an internal committee headed up by the chairman and owner of the company from its forming point in 1987. Its opening objectives was to review where the company was and how to embrace the principles moving forward.
Our first year has been split into two stages:
    • Current Policies and Processes and our connection with our employees and clients
    • Implementation of initiatives in accordance with our accreditations to the Environment:

    Policies and Procedures:

Securewest take the safety and security of our employees and clients very seriously, therefore it is vital that we maintain high standards through Integrated Management Systems recognised and audited by Lloyds Register (LR) and benchmarked against internationally recognised ISO standards:

    • ISO 28000:2007 & ISO 28007-1:2015 Security Management &Maritime Security
    • ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management
    • ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management
    • ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health & Safety Management

    Aim:

Given the above certifications held by Securewest, the committee decided to ensure all employees were to be re-issued company policies and processes inclusive of training. This was achieved, monitored, and evaluated by:

    • Interactive company workshops
    • Formal one to one update sessions.
    • Training of Securewest Business Development Managers for client contact to ensure our guiding principles are communicated effectively.

    Performance monitoring:

Throughout the management structure of Securewest and the positive engagement of all employees

    Ongoing Goals:

This process, now established throughout the management system is under continuous review including support and initiatives from all employees and formally reviewed by senior management annually.

    UN Global Compact – Environment

The environmental impact of a smaller business association and our scope for reducing the carbon footprint is smaller in scale than in many other industries. We have initially concentrated in our first year with in-house initiatives as the main environmental impacts of business travel have been severely curtailed during the last 12 months.

    Aim:

The global impact of COVID restrictions and requirements necessitated in a large percentage of our employees having to work out with the office environment. This has allowed to achieve several notable improvement and aspirations on our environmental impact:

    • 80% reduction in vehicle travel to and from the office
    • Closure of a large area of office space with lighting/heating/maintenance savings
    • Changes in office equipment usage and purchase
o Reduction on colour printing and quantities printed.
o Purchasing via suppliers utilising environmentally aware products

    Goals:

During this period Securewest has implemented a “Cycle to Work” scheme with financial incentives to employees to help both the environment and personal wellbeing. Currently a take up of 15% of employees with the ability to take part have actively embraced this initiative.

    Future Initiatives:

    • Securewest will continue to widen the review and implementation of Environmentally driven initiatives through 2021 and 2022.
    • Ensure our clients are aware of the UN Global Compact and encourage support and potential membership.
take the safety and security of our staff and clients very seriously, therefore it is vital that we maintain high standards through our Integrated Management System recognised and audited by Lloyds Register (LR) and benchmarked against Internationally recognised ISO Standards.
