    To our stakeholders:

I am pleased to confirm that TruTeq Wireless reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact.

Corruption is the biggest single problem preventing the rebirth of Africa and our support of the UN Global Compact is as strong as ever. We need to show that is it not just possible to do business ethically and sustainably, but also the single most important growth factor for our Mother Continent.

    Sincerely yours,

Tjaart van der Walt

  • A very large part of our business is from tenders. In some cases, it is clear that the outcome may be influenced and this places one in a very difficult position. Reporting this is very difficult and a growing concern is how companies are even getting support from their governments in winning business unethically.

The UNGC solves this problem and may even be good for business. By emphasizing our participation in the UNGC, potential clients know exactly where they stand with us before we tender.

The following phrase is contained in our responses to tenders:
"We are part of the United Nations Global Compact that subscribes to ten principles including human rights and anti-corruption. As a company policy, we always report corruption – even if it means that we will lose a deal."

  • Measurement of outcomes
  • Description of how the company monitors and evaluates anti-corruption performance.

  • It is difficult to measure progress in anti corruption. The best we can do is to make it clear from the outset that we will not pay a bribe to win business.
