    As an impact reforestation company in Central America we will continue to embrace (and seek to improve) the principles of the Global Compact into our daily operations. Human Rights

  • Futuro Forestal has and will continue to support and believe in the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Furthermore we commit to the prevention of abuse through internally developed evaluation mechanisms as well as certified external evaluation reports performed by unbiased industry specialists.

  • In the upcoming year Futuro Forestal will strongly advise project owners to certify individual plantations, not only for its rigid social and environmental benchmarks but to adopt an external evaluation system that will promote responsible management of the world's forests.

    Improvements in the social and economic conditions of local stakeholders are monitored through survey data that considers employment, earnings, livelihood, satisfaction, etc.

    Our investors require strict adherence to civil and tax law, as well as meaningful positive impact to our stakeholders. Violations may result in the termination of contracts, public investigation and corrective action.

  • Futuro Forestal monitors its performance through respected international certification agencies, as well as internal control mechanisms. Furthermore project sights are frequently visited by senior management. Human rights incidents may result in the cancellation of certification, and or contracts with investors.

    It is in the company's interest, financially and morally, to adhere to the highest standards of regard for basic human rights.

Labour

Our founders and leadership share a strong commitment to treating our workers with the utmost respect and will strive to identify and implement sustainable solutions to improving their livelihood in both the work place and in the community.

  • Project monitoring is part of our strategy to improve working conditions, in all aspects, in the reforestation business. Our monitoring system provides us with firsthand insight into our plantation conditions. This is an important component of maintaining adherence to the policies adopted by our company and its investors. We hope these steps will not only help us leverage our influence on the forestry industry but also provide data about how our policies have a tangible effect on the working conditions of our projects.
