Description
  • Electrolux communicates on corporate social responsibility with its stakeholders through the Annual Report and Sustainability Report, as well as the Electrolux.com website and direct dialogue. The Annual Report includes the section "Governance for Corporate Sustainability" which covers Corporate Governance (pp 79-82), Environmental Performance (pp 83-86) and Social Responsibility (p 87), including a statement on the Global Compact.

The Sustainability Report addresses economic, environmental and social issues, describing the Electrolux Group environmental approach, environmental policies, management systems and performance indicators. Electrolux has a long tradition of delivering products with outstanding environmental performance, for example in the form of reduced energy and water consumption, the elimination of hazardous substances, and designed for recycling. The report describes how Electrolux product development considers environmental impacts throughout the product life-cycle.

The Sustainability Report includes a section on Electrolux achievements and approach on Corporate Social Responsibility (one page has been devoted to the Global Compact). An important document in the CSR area is the Electrolux Workplace Code of Conduct, adopted by Electrolux Group Management in 2002. The Code defines minimum acceptable work standards for all people involved in the manufacturing and sale of Electrolux products, in all countries, business sectors and occupations. The Code is in line with the nine principles of the Global Compact and, thus, through the implementation and dissemination of the Code, the Group is actively working with the principles of the Compact.

The report describes the corporate functions that play important roles in working with the Code, as well as the tools that are used to communicate, support, and monitor how units perform vis-à-vis the Code. It also addresses supply-chain management and the Code of Conduct. Other areas covered in the report are Electrolux key stakeholders, including their economic value added, ethics, employees, workplace safety and product safety.

Electrolux will continue to communicate on progress through reports, website, press releases and direct dialogue.
