    In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and espcialli its principles concerning the environment into our business strategy, culture and daily operations.   • The scope of activity of Ecopack Bulgaria is closely related with environmental protection. Our major goals are:
     Meeting the targets on recovery and recycling in compliance with the national legislation and EU Directives in the sphere of environment protection and waste management;
     Further development and improvement of the established systems for collection, recycling and recovery of the packaging waste and enlarging their territorial scope, thus providing for the highest level of environmental protection and better living conditions for the Bulgarian citizens;
     Provision of public support for the separate collection and recovery of packaging waste and actual involvement of the population in the systems
    Concerning the information and educational campaigns targeted at citizens for promotion of the separate collection and forming of new environmental habits of the society our golas are to provoke the people to collect separately their packaging waste, to again put the focus on the three-colour containers systems, to inform on the benefits of the separate collection and recycling for the preservation of environment and natural resources.
    Concernng the Company internal policy, there are procedures for energy saving, used is only recycled papre and forthcoming is the introaduction of eco drive program;

  • Parallel to the development of the systems in the partner-municipalities started different informational and advertisement campaigns, educational projects, promotions, eco-happenings, theme days for children, seminars for different target groups, emphasizing on the business, local authorities and education of children /from kindergartens and elementary classes/. NATIONAL CAMPAIGN for separate collection of packaging waste "PUT THE GREEN DOT! Collect separately! "20 September to 8 October 2010.
    The objective of the campaign was to motivate people to separate their waste, thus actually contributing to saving resources and environmental protection. The campaign was attended by households from 96 municipalities in which the work ECOPACK Bulgaria (without one pilot municipality).
    Within the campaign, households in the municipalities in which ECOPACK Bulgaria operates, received information leaflet and sticker with green dot, the international symbol of separate waste collection, with a proposal to put it on the postbox. Thus they will demonstrate active citizenship and commitment to the cause of separate collection.
    Information materials and stickers were distributed in 750 schools in the municipalities in which ECOPACK operates. Information posters were designed "Assistant for separate collection of packaging waste", showing what kind of waste in which color containers should be discarded. The content of the campaign and planned activities in relation to school were presented and discussed in advance with experts from the "Access to education and support of development" at the Ministry of Education.
    Thousands of households in cities in which ECOPACK operates, put the Green dot of their mailboxes, and 10 of them won 1000 BGN. Additionally another 1000 families won eco-bag purse after site registration campaign.

    The first 30 schools, gathered the most points registrations site ECOPACK, won tennis tables and badminton sets, and so of them with the most points - School of Mathematics "Baba Tonka" in Ruse, win concert of Bulgarian Music Idol stars in its school yard. Thanks to the national campaign interest in the separate collection of packaging waste, the process of their treatment and subsequently the activity of this type of organizations has increased significantly.     NATIONAL CAMPAIGN ECOPACK Pavillion "ARCHITECTS OF THE FUTURE"
    For 6 consecutive weeks from 7 October to 13 November, ECOPACK Bulgaria ", held a national information and education campaign to motivate citizens to participate in the system for separate collection of packaging waste, titled" Architects of the Future". The campaign chose as its first destination city Ruse ECO idea is transferred to the territory of another 5 regional centers - Dobrich, Varna, Burgas, Stara Zagora and Pleven.

    A communication center during the campaign ECO tent was situated on an area of 100 square meters. Three equal-sized sectors within the tent symbolized the 3 types of packaging waste. Blue - for paper, yellow - for plastic and metal, and green - for waste glass.

    The special team of ECOPACK consultants welcomed over 30 000 people throughout the period of activity, informing them of the whole recycling process, and the main attraction for adults and for the smallest "architects of the future" are unique pieces made all three types of waste.
