    In this Annual Progress Communication, we describe our actions to continuously improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We also commit to share this information with our stakeholders through our main communication channels.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • • Ensure that workers are provided with safe, adequate and hygienic work facilities. Complying with safety, health and environmental standards.

    • Protect workers from harassment in the workplace, including physical, verbal, sexual or psychological harassment, abuse or threats. Petroworks within its corporate policies and internal regulations establishes guidelines for the protection of workers.

    • Take measures to eliminate components, designs, defects or side effects that could harm or threaten human life and health during the manufacture, use or disposal of products. All the elements arranged comply with the environmental regulations established in order to ensure that the life cycle of each product has the appropriate traceability.

    • Establish the integrity of the work team, generating an adequate environment for the staff, where they are treated in a dignified manner and the human resources are the company's primary base.

  • Implementation

  • We intend to monitor human rights violations committed during armed conflicts, including civilian casualties and incidents of sexual and gender-based violence; point out the facts and evidence to the parties and the public, and advocate for changes in policy, practice and behavior; provide training and technical advice for the integration of international standards of human rights and humanitarian law in military and peace operations; intervene strategically before the parties in conflict to reduce human rights violations and include them in political decision-making and peace agreements; facilitate the participation of various groups, including women, in peace negotiations; and cooperate closely with UN and regional peace missions to ensure the integration of human rights.

Labour

    • Allow the participation of the communities surrounding the company's projects in order to guarantee the generation of employment and welfare of the communities.
    • Guarantee a work system that provides work well-being for staff and their families, framed in a safe and healthy work environment.

    The human management department monitors all the personnel hired and evaluates who are candidates to enter the company.
    For the company it is very important to monitor their workers to ensure an adequate work environment.

Environment

  • Avoid environmental damage through the regular maintenance of production processes and environmental protection systems (control of air pollution, waste, water treatment systems, etc.). Implementation of environmental programs where adequate control is established to avoid contamination of natural resources.

    • Guarantee emergency procedures to prevent and deal with accidents that affect the environment and human health.
    Minimize the use of chemicals and other dangerous substances and ensure safe handling and storage of these.

    • Implement an adequate management of solid waste, tending to the minimization of waste, assurance of segregation at the source and recycling of materials used in operations.

    • Train staff in various environmental issues that ensure adequate environmental management in the areas of influence.

    • Establish the environmental guidelines for the operations carried out under the environmental management plan and environmental compliance plan PACA.

    • Guarantee an adequate environmental performance in the drilling areas complying with the Colombian environmental legislation.

    • Incorporate all company and third party personnel into the company's environmental management system.

    • Actively participate in campaigns to save and use water efficiently.
