    To our stakeholders:

    I am pleased to confirm that our company Mercan Makina reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.

    In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We have been supporting the ten principles since several years and we will keep supporting. We also commit to share this information with our stakeholders using our primary channels of communication.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • Human Rights is a significant issue that we pay attention. We respect to rule the principles correctly in our company. Within our enterprise, all our employees are fully paid including their social securities and taxes. They are not allowed to work more than laws required. We pay attention to their health and working conditions and try to make them comfortable in the workshop. We also support women to be integrated in business life and we employ handicapped persons. We strictly forbid the children laborship.

  • We listen to our employees and have their feedbacks. We collect them in our suggestion & complainment box. We take their suggestion for solving problems and making developments. Their feedbacks mostly help us to find a good solution. We train our employees to pay attention for human rights.

  • We had an audit from the labor ministery and no any nonconformances found.

Labour

  • Mercan by referring to core principles pays high respect to all kind of labour types. There is no forced labour, no child labour. We clearly state all rights and benefits of our employees. We try to minimize the risk of employee replacing very oftenly.

  • Our employees are trained regularly. Our HR departments set the meeting twice per week in order to listen to our employees and answer their questions.

  • we monthly have the brief report of diversity of employees. In the audit by ministery, there is no any nonconformances

Environment

  • We succesfully received ISO14001. We will have our certificate in March 2018. Our aim is keep the sustainability.

  • Implementation

  • On the production line, we have few kind of recycling bins. We separate garbages in order to recycle. We also send paper to the recycling company. We have boards on and some tv screens showing the environmental rules.

  • We set the written rules and have been applying since few years but this year we made a progress and we received ISO14001.

Anti-Corruption

  • We have strict rules against anti-corruption, bribery. Those who dont obey the rules are warned and fined.

  • We dont have any incidents for long time.

  • We currently dont have any written records but we will monitor them soon.
