    To our stakeholders:

    OPTOMER is a family business built from the beginning on trust and mutual respect. Interpersonal relationships are very important to us. To show our foreign partners of our engagement we started the process of joining the Global Compact (Participant since 2013/04/30).

    I am pleased to confirm that OPTOMER reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.

    In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We also commit to share this information with our stakeholders using our primary channels of communication.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • The company respects and believes in the principle of:
    1: Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights; and
    2: make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses.

    OPTOMER respects the Human Rights. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) were communicated to all employees, owners, management of OPTOMER and all business partners. For the upcoming year company is going to published all information about the UN Global Compact's principles in the area of Human Rights on www and prepare a special information board in the headquarter.

  • Implementation

  • OPTOMER to be reliable and fair business partner and employer, take care about respecting the Human Rights in their strategy and development. The company cooperate only with suppliers and customers which respect the Human Rights in their policy and work standards. In business relations OPTOMER emphasize importance of these principles.

  • In the history of the company has never reported human rights violations. The company communicates its commitment to these principles and monitor their suppliers and partners.

Labour
  • Assessment, policy and goals

  • The company respects and believes in the principles:
    3: Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining;
    4: the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labour;
    5: the effective abolition of child labour; and
    6: the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.
    OPTOMER respects The Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions taken by the company to implement labour policies, address labour risks and respond to labour violations.

  • OPTOMER have internal procedure (ISO9001) regarding human resources, where we clearly define that we care about gender equality, do not discriminate women and do not employ children. OPTOMER do not employ forced. The employees are free to join trade unions and associations. Nobody is discriminated. Most of the employees are women with respect for the right to childcare and maternity leave. All employees are covered by the compulsory health insurance. All employees are fairly remunerated. Consistent with the labor code. Never in 20 years of OPTOMER history there was not a disciplinary dismissal or any serious problems, which we cannot solve. For years, OPTOMER support local charities. The company cooperate with universities and invite students to practice.

  • In Polish law we have system BHP (compatible with OSHAS18001). Every year we are controlled, reports from these controls are available in Polish language in our office.

Environment

  • The company respects and believes in the principles:
    7: Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges;
    8: undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility; and
    9: encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.
    OPTOMER have an internal procedure called Waste Management - QP-6.4 , which defines the methods of handling of waste generated in the company.

  • Implementation

  • Company do not generate any environmentally harmful substances. OPTOMER do not use hazardous substances in the manufacture of our products. OPTOMER take care about eco-design - company: reduced the number of office equipment and replaced them by more efficient and effective devices, monitor the use of materials in company, in the design process try to use existing solutions, use reusable packaging, pass waste material for recycling. Preventing contamination is to remove the waste generated by the company with the participation of professional recipients of municipal waste. Company do not contaminated water by substances requiring special treatment. Wastewater discharged from the company to the municipal sewage treatment, and we have their permission.

Anti-Corruption

  • The company respects and believes in the principle:
    10: Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.

  • All employees, owners and management have been trained on the subject including the issues of ethics and anti-corruption procedures.
