    To our stakeholders:
    I am pleased to confirm that Norwegian Seafood Council reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.
    In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We also commit to share this information with our stakeholders using our primary channels of communication.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • The Norwegian Seafood Council activily support the Universal Decleration of Human Rights.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement Human Rights policies, address Human Rights risks and respond to Human Rights violations.

  • The principles of the Universal Decleration of Human Rightsare are an integrated part of the company's ethical policy and also activily communicated in the company's internal policy guidelines.

  • Measurement of outcomes
  • Description of how the company monitors and evaluates performance.

  • There has been no incidents reported on any violations of Human Rights in the company in the past reporting period.

Labour
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of labour rights for the company (i.e. labour rights-related risks and opportunities). Description of written policies, public commitments and company goals on labour rights.

  • The company is following norwegian standards and local laws related to employee rights and responsibilities, compensations and benefits.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions taken by the company to implement labour policies, address labour risks and respond to labour violations.

  • The company activily cooperate with labour unions, representing all employees, in implementing the company's labour policy.
    The company also activily cooperate with the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Service (NAV) according to issues related to health.

  • There has been no incidents reported on any violations in the area of Labour during the past reporting period.
    The company follow up all employees regularily through appraisal interviews and semi-annual quest backs on the working environment.

Environment

  • Description of the relevance of environmental protection for the company (i.e. environmental risks and opportunities). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on environmental protection.

  • The company is certified according to the environmental standard Eco-Lighthouse, which is Norway's most widely used certificatation for the documentation of environmental efforts and demonstration of social responsibility.

  • The company is annually audited by the Eco-Lighthouse.

  • There has been no incidents reported in the area of Environment.

Anti-Corruption

  • Description of the relevance of anti-corruption for the company (i.e. anti-corruption risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on anti-corruption.

  • The company has stated a zero-tolerance for corruption, bribery and extortion in the ethical guidelines.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement anti-corruption policies, address anti-corruption risks and respond to incidents.

  • All employees has signed a document stating that they have read and understood the company's rules and regulations related to inside information.

  • Measurement of outcomes

  • There has been no incidents reported in the past year on any violations in the area of Anti-orruption in the company.
