    To our stakeholders,

    I am pleased to confirm that LUCOBIT AG reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the
    United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.
    In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We also commit to share this information with our stakeholders using our primary channels of communication.

    The main focus this year has been on the environmental implications of the production of resins for waterproofing and asphalt applications.
    For our main products an EPD (environmental product declaration) was created and published by the IBU (Institut Bauen und Umwelt). The project concerning this issue has covered the entire process from the supplier of raw material to delivery at the customer. Three products were involved.
    A further highlight was the implementation of the ISO 50001 certificate for optimize and reduce negative environmental influence of the activities of LUCOBIT AG.

    LUCOBIT AG is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 and is going to implement an Integrated Management System which covers the aspects of quality and process optimizing, environment including waste of energy and health and safety working conditions.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals

  • At LUCOBIT AG we adhere to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We will not carry out business with any country or regimes where flagrant human rights abuses are known e.g. torture, politically motivated disappearances etc.

  • Implementation

  • At LUCOBIT AG we have a full set of policies regarding Human Rights policies. These include e.g. policies regarding stress, pregnancy, illness, consistent repeated work, health etc. We have volunteer groups consisting of both management and employees attending to these policies continuously.

  • In the past year LUCOBIT AG has not been subject to any investigations, legal cases or incidents involving Human Rights violations.

Labour
  • Assessment, policy and goals

  • LUCOBIT AG supports the ILO Core Conventions and will not do business with any organization who uses forced or child labour.
    All LUCOBIT AG employees are issued with a contract of employment which clearly states their terms and conditions including pay rates and overtime pay arrangements.

    LUCOBIT AG is going to obtain a works safety environment certification according to ILO standards. There is a strong focus within the company on ensuring the best possible work environment and conditions for our employees.

  • During the past years, LUCOBIT AG has had an increasing focus on labour conditions, especially in the production section, leading to an Integrated Management System which includes aspects of Quality, Environment, Health, Safety.
    LUCOBIT AG has implemented volunteer groups consisting of both management and employees attending to these policies at a minimum of twice a year.

  • LUCOBIT AG is continuously audited internally and externally on its progress on its work HSEQ certification. So far, there have been very few remarks.
    Also, LUCOBIT AG registers all accidents and 'almost-accidents', ensuring a stronger focus on possible problem areas. This has meant that in the certification period we have seen a slight reduction in these cases.

Environment

  • LUCOBIT AG possesses an environmental and energy policy and is certified to ISO 14001 and ISO 50001. The main products of LUCOBIT AG are covered with an EPD (environmental product declaration).

  • Implementation

  • LUCOBIT AG fulfills the strong environmental requirements of the German and European Authorities.
    LUCOBIT AG has implemented an Energy Team to obtain the ISO 50001 certificate and which promotes environmental and energy focusing initiatives. One of the targets is to find or develop new technologies to decrease the total environmental impact.

  • LUCOBIT AG monitors continuously the used amounts of different kinds of energy and we expect a dramatic decrease especially in the use of electricity and high pressure steam.

Anti-Corruption

  • LUCOBIT AG will not participate in any corruption, bribery or extortion. LUCOBIT AG supports the UN Convention Against Corruption and we will not operate with organisations who are corrupt.

  • The Financial Director is ultimately responsible for anti-corruption within LUCOBIT AG.

  • LUCOBIT AG has not been involved in any legal cases, rulings or other events to corruption and bribery.
    To ensure that no corruption should take place anyway, LUCOBIT AGG has ensured a steadfast zero-tolerance policy on bribe.
