    I am pleased to confirm that RHT Green reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.

    In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We also commit to share this information with our stakeholders using our primary channels of communication.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • We adhere to the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact (“UNGC”), including the following principles:
    -principle 1 : we support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights
    -principle 2: we make sure that our business is not complicit in human rights abuses

    We continue to pursue positive governance efforts in support of UNSDGs where relevant:
    UNSDG 8 Decent work and economic growth which is to Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive. We have zero tolerance for any discriminatory employment practices.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement Human Rights policies, address Human Rights risks and respond to Human Rights violations.

  • All employees are made aware of their role in safeguarding RHT’s client and stakeholder data. In line with the PDPA, we have implemented appropriate measures to protect personal data: 1) Data protection policies, 2) PDPC’s E-Learning programme, 3) Mandatory in-house training on data protection and cybersecurity. In addition to consensual data sharing under our data privacy policies, we have also implemented guidelines for data protection to ensure secure collection and handling of data. Our data protection principle is to deploy methods and technologies to protect and make data available to approved stakeholders under all circumstances. Our Information Technology (“IT”) team drives a five-step strategy to ensure that our stakeholders’ data is secure: 1) End point protection, 2) Firewall, 3) Encryption, 4) Data control 5) Data portability

  • We conduct regular training for data protection and privacy policy and monitor the number of employees taking the relevant courses and a short quiz/test. We also have guidelines for protecting whistle blowers. All our policy regarding human rights will be reviewed annually and reported in our sustainability report.

Labour

  • We adhere to the Ten Principles of the UNGC, including the following labour principles:
    -principle 1 : we uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining
    -principle 2: we uphold the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labour
    -principle 3: we uphold the effective abolition of child labour
    -principle 4: we uphold the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation

    In addition, we also continue to pursue positive social efforts in support of UNSDGs where relevant:
    UNSDG 3 Good Health and Well-Being which is to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.

  • Our employees are fully covered with hospitalisation and surgical benefits, which allows universal access to adequate healthcare services.

    We are committed to creating a respectful working environment free from prejudice which enables each employee to fully unleash their potential. RHTLaw Asia aligns its employment practices with the Singapore Tripartite Alliance for Fair and Progressive Employment Practices (TAFEP) and will uphold these five principles:
    -Recruit and select fixed income partners and employees on the basis of merit (such as skills, experience or ability to
    perform the job), and regardless of age, race, gender, religion, marital status and family responsibilities or disability.
    -Treat fixed income partners and employees fairly and with respect.
    -Provide fixed income partners and employees with equal opportunity to be considered for training and development
    based on their strengths and needs to help them achieve their full potential.
    -Reward fixed income partners and employees fairly based on their ability, performance, contributions and experience.
    -Abide by all labour laws of Singapore.

Environment

  • We adhere to the Ten Principles of the UNGC, including the following environmental principles:
    -principle1: we support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges
    -principle2: we undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility
    -principle3: we encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies

    In addition, we also continue to pursue positive environmental efforts in support of UNSDGs where relevant:
    UNSDG 12 Responsible Consumption and Production which is to ensure Sustainable Consumption and Production Patterns.

  • We are actively raising awareness of sustainable development with plans to appoint Net Zero Ambassadors while our sustainability consultancy RHT Green offers such solutions to external Stakeholders.
    UNSDG 13 Climate Action which is to take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts. We have conducted internal workshops on environmental litigation while employees across ONERHT will receive relevant information on our green efforts through regular updates and our NetZero ambassadors.
    We also run corporate wide campaigns to promote awareness and encourage environment sustainability amongst staff; as well as execute activities to encourage staff to partake in green behaviours.

  • We advocate Net-zero and Zero-waste. We measure and monitor scope 1,2,3 carbon emissions at the company level and for each event we organise. All the relevant information is disclosed in our annual sustainability report.

Anti-Corruption

  • We adhere to the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact (“UNGC”), including the following human rights and anticorruption principle: We work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.

    In addition, we also continue to pursue positive governance efforts in support of UNSDGs where relevant:
    UNSDG 16 Peace Justice and Strong Institutions which is to promote peaceful and inclusive societies of sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels. We have zero tolerance for any form of workplace corruption and bribery.

  • We are committed to honest, fair and open conduct of business, including fair and transparent contracting and procurement practices. We continue to comply with anti-corruption laws and best practices and have a zero-tolerance approach to practices that could be considered corrupt or acts of bribery to obtain an unfair advantage. In dealing with bribery and corruption risks, we continue to maintain an effective internal control system and monitor our transactions. Our whistleblowing policy provides a platform for individuals to disclose any observed improprieties that involve our employees and business partners without fear and reprisal. All instances of whistleblowing will be independently reviewed and investigated, including: 1) Incorrect financial reporting or questionable accounting, 2) Dangers to the health and safety of any individual, professional or ethical malpractices, 3) Misappropriation of assets or funds, concealment wrongdoings or malpractices.
