    We, Al Ajmi Engineering Consultants (AEC) is delighted to confirm our commitment towards the UN Global Compact initiative and its unrelenting pledge to embrace performance on the UN Global Compact “10 Principles” specifically in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.

    In this annual Communication on Progress for year 2022 to 2023, we continue to initiate Global Compact’s principles into our policies, philosophy and daily operations of our organization.

    We adhere to persistently share this information with all our shareholders through any means of communication required.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals

  • We continue to maintain the standard achievement of United Nation's Declaration of Human Rights and strictly performed and executed the same at all levels of our organization.

  • Description of concrete actions to implement Human Rights policies, address Human Rights risks and respond to Human Rights violations.

  • The Human Rights policies as expressed in the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights has always been applied to our organization and a policy dedicated for Human Rights have accordingly acted upon.

  • To guarantee that nobody in our organization violates any of the human rights strategies, we continue implementing our strict program of observation, which is part of our ISO Certification, hence, that enables any data or activity to undergo various levels of the organization for endorsement from its applicable senior. This helps in uncovering any violations at that level once done.

Labour

  • At AEC, all of our personnel are given the rights without prejudice, regardless of ones’ background.

  • Once a person is employed with AEC, they are given right away with proper labour rights. Such measures have been added in the section dealing with labour rights in our standards and policies.

  • The way our operations work particularly in the wake of putting methods beforehand, with the ISO strict compliance, such violation would be exposed easily.

    Any breach of any rights and policies would be dealt immediately following investigating the incident and confirming the source of its problem.

Environment

  • A dedicated section towards the environmental protection is implemented in our policies and the same standards remains upheld.

  • AEC has always encouraged its employees to conduct their correspondences electronically since from the beginning and the same was significantly maintained during the years of pandemic. Accordingly, clients and companies we deal with are encouraged to do the same.

  • At AEC, we continue to design and supervise the construction at environmentally friendly structures and meet Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEEDS) sustainability criteria.

    Different levels in the company have different monitoring criteria. On the administration level, going paperless is the main goal, thus, correspondences are encouraged always to be recorded electronically as much as possible.

    During project design phase, specification engineers and designers work together to achieve sustainability through use of materials that emit less VOC or are made from recycled material...etc. Additionally tenders are being distributed in soft copies.

    During construction supervision, mainly our engineers continuously try to monitor contractor performance and make sure no material wastage is made.

Anti-Corruption

  • We strive to control corruption at all times especially in the organization. Hence, AEC has its reputation to go against any form of corruption and the positive feedback we get in the market is what set us apart.

  • We dedicated a section that deals with anti-corruption and which is implemented in our company standards & policies to deal with bribery, perjury and all other forms of corruption possible in our industry.

  • A regular auditing across all departments of the company and by random checking as well as a yearly external audit ensures all our actions comply with the policies set forth by our company.
