    1. Respect for Human Rights
    The Chiyoda Group understands that in the course of its business activities, it may, whether directly or indirectly, have an impact on human rights. As a member of society, we also recognize the importance of respecting human rights in our business activities.

    The Chiyoda Group respects internationally recognized human rights as set out in the International Bill of Human Rights(*1) and the core labor standards as set out in the International Labor Organization Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work(*2), and implements human rights initiatives in accordance with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights(*3).

    As key management issues, the Chiyoda Group are addressing global environmental challenges and responding to climate change in line with our corporate philosophy of ‘Energy and Environment in Harmony’. The group has established new medium to long-term greenhouse gas (GHG) emission targets towards realizing carbon neutrality by 2050, and will contribute to achieving this goal by combining our engineering capabilities with innovative digital technology.

    As “Sustainability” is core of corporate business activities, President & COO, Representative Director is appointed by the board of directors on the Chief Sustainability Officer to manage overall CSR and Sustainability activities.
    Further, the following organizational structure is established to promote the CSR and Sustainability activities:

    ・The IR, PR & CSR Sec., Corporate Services Dep. is placed in the HR & General Affairs Division to coordinate and facilitate the promotion of the relevant  activities and collaborate with the Strategy & Risk Integration Division for CSR and Sustainability to be integrated with the corporate planning and management.
    ・The Group Company Liaison Meeting on CSR is instituted to ensure that the activities are carried out in the entire group  companies.

    Particularly for the matters of compliance, one of the important themes on CSR and Sustainability, the Compliance Sec., Corporate Services Dep. is separately established as a specialized organization in the HR & General Affairs Division. The Compliance Sec., Corporate Services Dep. collaborates with the domestic and overseas group companies to enhance the compliance activities, with the Compliance Committee and Export Control Committee under the direction of the Executive Meeting as well as Group Liaison Meeting on Compliance set up.
