  • To our stakeholders and colleagues,

    I am pleased to confirm that Jiangsu Seraphim Solar System Co., Ltd. (the “Seraphim”) reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labor, Environment and Anti-Corruption.

    In this our first annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to integrate the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We are also committed to share this information with our clients, suppliers and other stakeholders using our primary channels of communication.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • (1) Assessment, Policy and Goals
    (i) We are, and will continuously be fully supporting and respecting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
    (ii) We have established and implemented the Seraphim’s Business Conduct of Guidelines to support the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
    (iii) We are also using our best efforts to make sure our partners / suppliers / clients value Human Rights and are complying with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, applicable laws and Seraphim’s Business Conduct of Guidelines, by the provisions in contracts, external audits, and diligence agreements.
    (iv) Our goal and commitment is by valuing, protecting, and with zero tolerance the violation of Human Rights.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement Human Rights policies, address Human Rights risks and respond to Human Rights violations.

  • (i) We encourage the management, employees, and other staff to report Human Rights violation activities and speeches to the Human Resource department by email, face-to-face talk, while keeping it strictly confidential.
    (ii) Per local applicable law, Seraphim’s Recruitment Management System and Training Management System, all employees are being trained to value and protect Human Rights.

  • Description of how the company monitors and evaluates performance.

  • (i) By a yearly and unscheduled internal audit conducted under the lead of the Compliance Department, we will be fully aware of the protection of Human Rights and any indication of violating activities and speeches. Per Seraphim’s Rewards and Punishments Management System, any management members, employees and staff violating any Human Rights will be reprimanded and / or punished.
    (ii) Seraphim was founded in the year of 2011 and during our existence, we have not been reported / reprimanded / punished for any Human Rights violations, activities or speeches.

Labour
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of labour rights for the company (i.e. labour rights-related risks and opportunities). Description of written policies, public commitments and company goals on labour rights.

  • (i) We are acutely aware that our employees are the most valuable asset of Seraphim, we respect the local labor laws, and support the UNGC principles on labor standards.
    (ii) We established Seraphim’s Recruitment Management System, Training Management System and Rewards and Punishments Management System following the International Labor Organization Core Conventions in addition to the local applicable laws and regulations, by which the employees and staff are free to openly discuss and bargain collectively.
    (iii) Per aforesaid Seraphim’s policy, the forced labour, child labour and discrimination is strictly prohibited to anyone in Seraphim.
    (v) We are also at our best efforts to cause our partners / suppliers / clients to value the Labour Rights and complying with the International Labour Organization Core Conventions, applicable laws and Seraphim’s Business Conduct of Guidelines, by provisions in contracts, external audits, diligence agreement.
    (vi) Our goal and commitment is valuing, protecting, and zero tolerance to violation of Labour Rights.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions taken by the company to implement labour policies, address labour risks and respond to labour violations.

  • (i) We encourage the management, employees, and other staff to report Labour Rights violating activities and speeches, including forced labour, discrimination, to the Human Resource department by email, face-to-face talk, which will be strictly kept confidential.
    (ii) Per local applicable law, and Seraphim’s Recruitment Management System and Training Management System, the employees are being trained for valuing and protecting of Labour Rights.
    (iii) For the benefits of Seraphim’s employees and staffs, we participate in the local Workers’ Union organization, and implement the local protecting and benefiting policies and regulations.
    (iv) The Employees’ and staffs’ healthy and safety are ensured by multiple measures implemented by EHS department, following the standards and requirements of local applicable laws and ISO 45001:2018. In addition, all employees and staff in Seraphim are well secured by accident liability insurance, employer liability insurance and other commercial insurance in supplementation of public social security.

  • (i) By case-by-case report, we indicate the reason / cause of every accident and implement improving measures as soon as applicable.
    (ii) By yearly and unscheduled internal audit conducted under the lead of Compliance department, we could have a full awareness of the protection of Labour Rights and indication of the violating activities and speeches. Per Seraphim’s Rewards and Punishments Management System, any management members, employees and staff violated the Labour Rights will be censured and / or punished.
    (iii) During the past decade, we have not been reported / censured / punished for Labour Rights violation activities and speeches.

Environment
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of environmental protection for the company (i.e. environmental risks and opportunities). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on environmental protection.

  • (i) As Seraphim is known in the global market, we are dedicated to manufacturing and selling Photovoltaic modules which are widely used in generating electricity without carbon emissions. We value the environment protection just as we value the importance of our industry towards the environment. The goal of Seraphim is to provide high quality standard products to protect all living things on our planet from pollution generated by any electricity production.
    (ii) Notwithstanding above, we also strive to reduce the environmental impact of our business by educating employees and staff, clients, suppliers about the environmental impact of running our business.
    (iii) In addition, we are using our best efforts to make sure our partners / suppliers / clients also value the environment and that they comply with the UN’s environmental principles, applicable laws, Seraphim’s Business Conduct of Guidelines, using provisions in contracts, external audits and diligence agreements.

  • Description of concrete actions to implement environmental policies, address environmental risks and respond to environmental incidents.

  • (i) Per local applicable law, Seraphim’s Recruitment Management System and Training Management System, the employees are being trained for valuing and protecting the environment.
    (ii) For product’s efficiency and capability, we improve these by injecting research funds every year, also by implementing multiple measures to improve the quality of our product. Our manufacturing activities perfectly comply with ISO 9001:2015, and ISO 14001:2015, and all products’ quality perfectly meet with the requirements of CE, TUV and IEC certifications.
    (iv) For manufacturing activities, we have committed to source less toxic and environmentally unfriendly raw materials and endeavor to reduce our use of electricity power.
    (i) To be an industrial good example, and to reduce electricity power consumption, we have installed solar power plants for our own use.

  • (i) Implemented by our EHS department, the Seraphim’s environmental emergency reaction policy requires all relevant departments to be responsible in assisting the local authorities to eliminate environmental incidents by Seraphim, this under the lead of the EHS department, regardless of whether such incidents are caused by our production activities.
    (iii) By yearly and random internal audits conducted under the lead of EHS department, we can be sure that we are fully aware of protecting the environment and of any violating activities.
    (iv) To date, we have not encountered any environmental incidents.

Anti-Corruption
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of anti-corruption for the company (i.e. anti-corruption risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on anti-corruption.

  • (i) We support the UNGC principles on anti-corruption, UN’s Convention against Corruption and any other local / international applicable laws and regulations. We work strongly against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.
    (ii) To demonstrate our zero-tolerance attitude to our partners / suppliers / clients, we also include the anti-commercial corruption regulations in Seraphim’s Business Conduct Guidelines.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement anti-corruption policies, address anti-corruption risks and respond to incidents.

  • (i) Per Seraphim’s Business Conduct Guidelines, all activities violating the applicable laws and Seraphim’s policies, will be reported directly to the management. We encourage the management, employees, and other staff to report anti-corruption violation activities and speeches to the Human Resource department and / or Compliance department by email, directly with the person(s), which will be kept strictly confidential.
    (ii) All managing members have signed a legally binding honesty and integrity agreement with Seraphim, to which they have committed to adhere to.
    (iii) Per local applicable law, Seraphim’s Recruitment Management System and Training Management System, the employees are being trained for anti-corruption laws, regulations and policies.

  • (i) By a yearly and random internal audit conducted under the lead of the Compliance department, we will be fully aware of any activities violating anti-corruption laws, regulations and policies.
    (ii) To date, there has been no corruption case / incidents that have occurred within Seraphim.
