    In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • Human rights are rights inherent to all human beings without discrimination, regardless of nationality, place of residence, sex, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, language, sexual orientation and gender identity, disability, or any other status.

    A safe and stable climate is an integral part of the human right to a healthy environment along with healthy ecosystems, a non-toxic environment and the rights to participation, access to information and access to justice in environmental matters.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement Human Rights policies, address Human Rights risks and respond to Human Rights violations.

  • Our organisation ensures that workers have safe, adequate, and hygienic working conditions in accordance with Malaysian Act 514 Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 by providing health and medical benefits to all staff and ensuring the working premises have sufficient sanitary facilities as per adherence to the said law.

  • We also adhere to Malaysia Employment Act 1955 by providing protection for workers from workplace harassment, including physical, verbal, sexual or psychological harassment.

    All staff are provided a basic human rights and ethics code manual and a reporting channel is provided if any infringement takes place. The process of reporting is top down from the CEO to conduct due diligence and an outcome report will be made within 30 working days.

    Our Rate of occupational diseases, injuries, and absenteeism is 0% with no casualties reported.

Labour

  • In accordance with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), businesses must seek to prevent or mitigate adverse human rights impacts that are directly linked to their operations, products or services by their business relationships, even if they have not contributed to those impacts.

  • We ensure that the company does not participate in any form of forced or bonded labour as such practise is not permitted in the organisation. This is enforced clearly through every single employment contract issued to respective employees.

  • Our organisation complies with minimum wage standards in Malaysia which is equivalent to minimum RM1200 per month per employee.

    We ensure that employment-related decisions are in accordance with Malaysia Employment Law Act 1955 as all employees' employment contracts are issued based on the said law and are enforced throughout the company.

    Any staff who are infringed based on Malaysia Employment Law Act 1955 can report directly to the CEO and an outcome report will be made within 30 working days.

Environment

  • The company remains committed to sustainable development and strive to operate in a way that minimises environmental impact. We strive to maintain environmental concerns by focusing on the application of new technologies and industry best practises that are environmentally friendly, optimise resource use, promote energy efficiency, and we are committed to taking proactive measures to preserve the environment for future generations while meeting the needs of our stakeholders.

  • We implement emergency procedures to prevent and address accidents affecting the environment and human health, in accordance with the Malaysia Environmental Quality Act, 1974, an Act relating to the prevention, abatement, and control of pollution, and the enhancement of the environment, and for other purposes.

    The increase in our Carbon emission for the year of 2021 is higher in comparison to 2020 is due to the Work From Home factor in 2020 which was introduced due to the Covid-19 pandemic work from office restrictions.

    We however do make mandatory contributions to TNB’s Renewable Energy Fund (KWTBB) at the rate of 1.6% per KWh used. We have also invested energy saving lighting and fixtures to further reduce our emissions for the subsequent years.

Anti-Corruption

  • We support the UNGC principles on anti-corruption and works strongly against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.

  • Adhering to the best practices in line with the anti-bribery & anti-corruption (ABC) policy, we are committed to conducting business dealings with integrity. This means avoiding practices of bribery and corruption of all forms in the company’s daily operations. We have adopted a zero tolerance approach against all forms of bribery and corruption and takes a strong stance against such acts. Employees who refuse to pay or receive bribes or participate in acts of corruption will not be penalised even if such refusal may result in the Company losing its business or not meeting the target.
