    I am pleased to confirm that Eenovators Limited reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.

    In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We also commit to sharing this information with our stakeholders using our primary channels of communication.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals

  • •Eenovators Limited has committed to observe all labor rights guidelines on the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining, the elimination of forced or compulsory labor, the abolition of child labor and the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation. All our employees are aware of their Rights including; the Right to a safe workplace free of dangerous conditions, toxic substances, and other potential safety hazards; Right to a grievance procedure, Right to be free from retaliation for filing a claim or complaint against an employer; and the Right to fair wages for work performed.In addition, has developed a labour records statement that ensures all employees are issued with a Letter of Offer upon recruitment and a Contract of Employment. Copies of each Employee document are retained in individual files stored and updated by the Human Resources Manager. The Employee is also taken through a company induction process by the department of Human Resource.

  • •Eenovators Limited ensure workers are provided safe, suitable and sanitary work facilities- During the Covid-19 period we ensured the employees are protected from the risk of getting infected by allowing them to work from home. After resumption to working from the office Eenovators has provided Sanitizers and masks the staff have also been vaccinated against Covid-19 to ensure they are protected while working from the office and when out in the field•
    We have also Complied with minimum wage standards
    •We have secured a WIBA cover to ensure that our staff are protected in case of accidents in the course of their duties
    •Eenovators limited has been in the forefront to ensure safe and suitable and comfortable work facilities through providing a great working environment in the beginning of the year 2021 the company bought new comfortable office chairs
    •Different Staff trainings have been conducted to ensure self-growth, personal development and team work self-development these training include; mental health awareness, taking charge of change, and communication tips.

    .Eenovators has provided a safe space where staff can air their complaints and grievances through written down policy procedures that gives the right to speak up.
    • Eenovators Limited has an emergency response policy that stipulates how the staff are supposed to respond in case of an emergency situation. Safety gears have been procured for the technical team working on the field both in the internship program and the regular employees to ensure safety while performing their duties. The staff also are provided with medical cover for the staff and their dependents to insure their medical needs and also to ensure that they can received treatment easily in case of any illness or health threats.
    We have ensured that the gender balance as been adhered to with and currently we have 7 female and 3 male employees. We are also running a Youth in Energy Empowerment Program (YEEP) (https://eenovators.com/youth-in-energy-empowerment-program-yeep/) that is a Youth Innovation internship program run under Eenovators Limited with the aim to equip young people with a background in engineering, and aged between 21-30 years with energy skills and experience required to position them for employment and entrepreneurship in the energy space. The first cohort has recently graduated and had 3 female and 6 males.

  • The human resource manager maintains a record of all incidences that have been reported and how they were resolved. These are reviewed in our annual strategy meeting that is held at closing of the year with recommendations for improvements issued.
    we have developed a risk register which is updated regularly to ensure compliance in terms of mitigation and responsiveness.

Labour

Environment

  • Eenovators Ltd has a general environmental and social commitment guidelines that are fundamental to ensuring that do not support projects and programmes that unnecessarily harm the environment, vulnerable communities, women or contribute to poverty, social inequality or gender discrimination.
    Eenovators shall ensure that it:
     Has checks and balances to ensure environmental and social risks are identified and assessed at the earliest possible stage of project/programme design.
     Adopts measures to avoid or where avoidance is impossible, minimize or mitigate or manage those risks during implementation.
     Monitors the status of those measures during and at the end of implementation and project. That the material measures and actions set out in this Policy will be assessed, monitored and reported throughout implementation of the Project.
     Ensures that adequate opportunities are provided for the informed participation of all stakeholders in the formulation and implementation of projects/programmes supported by all material measures and actions so that the Project is implemented in accordance with the Environmental and Social Standards.
     Also complies with the provisions of any other E&S documents required under the ESF such as Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMP), Stakeholder Engagement Plans (SEP), theIFC’s Environmental and Social Performance Standards (IFC PS); and Sustainability principles advocated by the UN Global Compact.

  • 1.We have also engaged in a clean up exercise around our office premises as part of our customer service week initiatives.
    2..We have also run a conference "The 2021 World Energy Day (WED) Conference" which was held in Kampala Uganda from 20th to 22nd October 2021 as a culmination of the week-long World Energy Day celebrations by individuals and organizations across various sectors of the economy, from both the public and private space. This year’s WED Theme was on Energy Sustainability in Africa:Unlocking the Food Sustainability, Climate Change, and Water Equation.The WED celebrations have been organized to raise awareness of the need for energy efficiency and prudent management across the region and to underpin the critical role this plays in business growth and profitability. This conference is set to bring together key players in the energy sector, as well as expert speakers from around the globe to address key issues that will shape energy sustainability in Africa. The conference will also serve to showcase brilliant ideas developed by the youth in the Energy Innovation Challenge as well as award outstanding professionals in the energy sector in East Africa.
    3. We have also conducted over 300 energy & water audits, installed solar pv and solar hot water , implemented energy efficiency projects and also conducted trainings to our clients on energy management and energy efficiency.

  • 1. Ensure the adoption of all relevant occupational, health and safety (OHS) measures and the grievance mechanism provided for all workers in the Human Resource Manual. All contracts and agreements internal and external should reflect relevant requirements of the Environmental and Social Commitment and Plan (ESCP).
    2. Conduct and implement the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment that has been prepared for each Project to ensure that this ESCP is implemented in all operational areas
    3. We perform background checks on all stakeholders and contractors selected for all projects to ensure they are aware of the ESCP.
    4.Check that All project documentation including tender documents should reflect the relevant aspects of our Environmental and Social Commitment.
    5. Ensure that sufficient resources are made available for the effective implementation of the requirements contained in this ESCP.
    6.We have established and maintain an organizational structure with qualified staff and resources to support management of E&S risks. The E&S Manager is designated to the Human Resource Manager.
    7. Ensuring that all incidents and non-conformances are reported and closed out as required, as timeously as possible.

Anti-Corruption

  • It is our policy to conduct all of our business in an honest and ethical manner. We take a zero-tolerance approach to Bribery, corruption and fraud and are committed to acting professionally, fairly and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships wherever we operate and implementing and enforcing effective
    systems to counter bribery.
    Bribery, corruption and fraud are criminal offences under the Laws of Kenya which expose Ennovators Ltd and its employees to the risk of prosecution, fines and imprisonment as well as tarnishing the Company’s reputation. As a matter of policy, Eenovators will NOT tolerate any employee or Third Party engaging in any act
    of bribery, corruption or fraud as defined in this Policy. Any breach of the stipulations herein will be regarded

  • •We have code of conduct policy that stipulates the conduct of employees when engaging in any business of the company. All employees are expected to conduct businesses in an ethical manner.
    •We also ensure that we include the bribery and anticorruption policy in all contracts with business partners and also include it in the bid documents. In addition, we ensure that our all our stakeholders are aware and comply with the set out policy guidelines.
