  • Dear Mr. Secretary-General,
    I am pleased to confirm that Tourism Promotion Services (Pakistan) Limited supports the ten principles of the UN Global Compact with respect to human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption. With this commitment, we express our intent to advance these principles within our sphere of influence, and will make a clear statement of this commitment to our stakeholders and the general public.
    We also pledge to take part in the activities of the UN Global Compact where appropriate and feasible – through, for instance, participation in Country/Local Networks; involvement in specialized initiatives and work streams; engagement in partnership projects; and reviewing and providing commentary to participating companies on their Communications on Progress.
    We assure our continued involvement/ cooperation, we regret our absence from filing of COP for the previous years after registration.

Human Rights

    Take initiatives to ensure environment protection in the areas we operate.
    Initiatives taken during the reporting period:
    1. Material Flow Cost Accounting Project was completed for Islamabad Serena Hotel with NPO and APO. Serena in collaboration with NPO (National Productivity Organization) and APO developed a demo case study on Material Flow Cost Accounting through an expert from APO Mr. Alex YAP.
    The MFCA Conference was held on September 5, 2019.
    2. Islamabad Serena Hotel has applied for ISO 50001 Energy Management System project sponsored by UNIDO to implement ISO 50001 in the Hotel. The project was started in 2019 and will be finished by 2021.
    3. Air Emissions tests of Generators/Chillers and Boilers were carried out in 2019 and emissions were in the limits of EPA.
    4. Shopping Bags are eliminated from the operations.
    5. Indoor Air Monitoring is carried out in the Hotel to ensure the quality of the air.
    6. 10 % decrease in the paper consumption
    7. 8% decrease in the organic waste.

Anti-Corruption
