    To our Stakeholders

    I am pleased to confirm that Vision International Forwarding Pty Ltd reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact I the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.

    In this Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We also commit to share this information with our stakeholders using our primary channels of communications.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • Vision International Forwarding Pty Ltd is currently undertaking a self assessment of our alignment to expected standard as set out in the Declaration of Human rights. Vision commits to ensuring alignment to the Declaration of Human Rights across the whole business as well as ensuring our commitment is visible to all interested parties in our supply chain.
    The goal for the upcoming year will be to finalise the self assessment against the Declaration of Human Rights and to develop a Policy to be communicated to all Interested Parties that makes clear our commitment.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement Human Rights policies, address Human Rights risks and respond to Human Rights violations.

  • Through the process of self assessment against the Declaration of Human Rights we will ensure that consultation occurs and that the responsibilities for the protection of Human Rights within the company are identified and communicated.
    Human Resource policies will continue to be developed.

  • Measurement of outcomes
  • Description of how the company monitors and evaluates performance.

  • Vision will continue to develop the executive management team in Human Rights matters via periodic communication and professional development. Vision will utilise resources within the UN Global Compact website resources to share knowledge with the wider team.
    Progress in the area of Human Rights as it applies to our business will be discussed at the Quarterly Management Review Meetings.

Labour
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of labour rights for the company (i.e. labour rights-related risks and opportunities). Description of written policies, public commitments and company goals on labour rights.

  • Vision International Forwarding is currently reviewing our labour risks and opportunities, and reviewing and redeveloping the Enterprise Agreement that is currently in place for our workforce. Vision is supportive of freedom of association and collective bargaining and supports the elimination of forced labour, child labour.
    Vision does not allow discrimination to occur in our workplace.

  • Vision International Forwarding Pty Ltd ensures that access to information about Labour rights is available to all employees. Protection of Labour rights is important to Vision International Forwarding and we operate an open door policy to ensure that all staff have mechanism for raising any concerns that they have.
    Employees are involved in a consultative process regarding protection of labour rights. Vision ensures that external expert advice is sought when reviewing our alignment to labour rights for our employees.

  • Vision International Forwarding Pty Ltd will this year undertake an assessment of our employee diversity factors.

    We will also undertake a self assessment against SA8000 Standard for Social Accountability

Environment
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of environmental protection for the company (i.e. environmental risks and opportunities). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on environmental protection.

  • As a first step Vision has chosen to align to UN Global Compact environmental principles. Vision is currently educating its staff and gaining knowledge in this area, primarily from UN Global Compact resources, Webinars and other available resources.
    In the last year we have taken the initiative to replace lights with low energy lights throughout our warehouse facility to reduce power consumption. The business is currently identifying further areas that we can improve our impact on the environment.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement environmental policies, address environmental risks and respond to environmental incidents.

  • Vision currently contributes to recycling initiatives with our supply chain partners. We are proactively identifying areas in which we can improve around reducing the use of paper and water, and plan to have initiatives finalised in the coming 12 month period.

    Vision will develop a policy on environmental accountability and protection for our staff and interested parties.

  • Measurement of outcomes
  • Description of how the company monitors and evaluates environmental performance.

  • Progress on environmental issues will be discussed at Management Review meetings. We will continue to avail ourselves of resources available to us that communicate initiatives that other businesses are taking and sharing these stories within our business.

    Review of initiatives undertaken and proposed will be reviewed by senior management at management review meetings.

Anti-Corruption
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of anti-corruption for the company (i.e. anti-corruption risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on anti-corruption.

  • Vision has developed a DRAFT anti bribery and corruption policy for communication to stakeholders. Our statement of support for UN Global Compact is shared to stakeholders and demonstrates our commitment to preventing bribery and corruption.

    Vision will begin to develop specific goals around bribery and corruption

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement anti-corruption policies, address anti-corruption risks and respond to incidents.

  • Vision has in place grievance mechanisms and open door policy to provide a mechanism for all stakeholders to raise concerns or reports of bribery and corruption.

    Vision will research industry initiatives related to collective action on anti-corruption and bribery.

  • Measurement of outcomes
  • Description of how the company monitors and evaluates anti-corruption performance.

  • Vision will develop an anti-bribery and corruption program and implement this program. Alignment to the program will be periodically reviewed and discussed by senior management during Management Review.

    Bribery and Corruption findings relevant to our industry will be shared amongst the wider business to ensure the wider workforce understands the negative effects of bribery and corruption.
    Vision will continue to provide an open door policy for reporting any instances of Bribery and Corruption.
