    To our stakeholders:

    I am pleased to confirm that ERYS GROUP reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.

    In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We also commit to share this information with our stakeholders using our primary channels of communication.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • ERYS Group is operating in post conflict areas where the Human Rights are not always respected. Therefore the board of the company decided to write a Ethic Charter with a clear reference to the Human Rights Charter,with the obligation for each subcontractors to sign the document.
    As well, the Group has proposed to one of its client to organize an "introduction to the Human Rights" in New Caledonia, for the benefit of its employees.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement Human Rights policies, address Human Rights risks and respond to Human Rights violations.

  • ERYS Group as said before, is working in environments where some violations of the Human Rights have been observed. An internal procedure forbids any employee to work with such a subcontractor which would not respect strictly the Charter. In order to get sure that this principle is implemented, ERYS Group has trained and sensibilized its personel on the ground to the concrete application of the Human Rights and regular audits are conducted by the management in the concerned countries.
    In 2013, as the Group employs people with various geographical origins, the intern Charter, and especially references of the Charter against racism has been annexed to each Working contract and must be signed by each new collaborator.
    In january, a Human Rights courses has been proposed and accepted to a client of ERYS Group in New Caledonia, in order to give a sensitization to the Charter to the employees working on the project.
    ERYS is a signatory member of the ICOC (http://www.icoc-psp.org/), a Swiss government convened, multi-stakeholder initiative that aims to both clarify international standards for the private security industry operating in complex environments, as well as to improve oversight and accountability of these companies.

  • In 2013, no violation of ERYS Group Charter neither of the Human Rights principles has been noticed by the Ethic committee.
    Last june a warning has been sent by email to a subcontractor in northern Africa, who was not respecting the Labour right. Since this letter improvements have been noticed and as the company is currently fully respecting the Human Rights principles, ERYS Group has restarted its activities with this subcontractor. Regular audits are conducted by a Management representative.

Labour
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of labour rights for the company (i.e. labour rights-related risks and opportunities). Description of written policies, public commitments and company goals on labour rights.

  • In its Ethic Charter, ERYS Group makes a clear reference to the Labour Rights principles. This Charter is signed by any new employee joining the Group.

    ERYS Group has set up a representation of its employees in july 2013, and the first meeting took place in last september. Various topics are discussed during the meeting, such as working conditions, trainings, etc.

    Having regards to the various origins of the employees of ERYS Group, the management underlined in its Ethic Charter the prime importance of the non discrimination policy. Out of our staff, we have people originally coming from Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Algeria..

  • Implementation

  • The fournitures have been changed on the staff request, during the last meeting hold between the top management and the employees representative.
    Trainings wishes have been included in the pre individual meeting form.

  • Measurement of outcomes

  • In 2013, the representation of female in the company increased by 20% within the management staff.
    ERYS Group is proud as well to maintain a high level of diversity within its staff.

    English trainings have been offered to personel who made the demand before the annual individual meeting.

Environment
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of environmental protection for the company (i.e. environmental risks and opportunities). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on environmental protection.

  • Being a consultancy company, ERYS Group does not have any heavy industries which could impact directly the environment. However a travel policy aiming to reduce the environmental footprint of our activities, and a wastes management policy have been written in june 2013.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement environmental policies, address environmental risks and respond to environmental incidents.

  • A travel policy has been set up, in order to privilegiate non polluting travel means, such as the train.
    The main step ERYS Group did in 2013 is the implementation of a real wastes management of working consumables (print and toner cartridge, light bulbs.
    An "environmental principles" chapter has been added to the monthly agenda of the top management meeting.

  • In 2013, ERYS Group started with its wastes and energy management policy.

    - Installation of automatic light switch in all the head office
    - Obligation for each employee to turn off his computer before leaving the office
    With these two measures, ERYS Group observed a decrease of its energy invoices, and therefore, electricity consumption.

    - Reduction of 15 % of air transport by the management staff.
    Train has been preferred to plane, in order to minimize the environmental footprint of the company.

Anti-Corruption

  • ERYS Group noted down its Ethic Charter an article dedicated to the anti corruption ("Lutte contre la corruption").
    An Ethic Committee has been set up and control, periodically, the conformity of the Group activities and this engagement.

  • Implementation

  • ERYS Group is a risks management consultancy company, whose one of the objective is to prevent corruption within its client activities management.
    Therefore, ERYS CEO intervenes in classes and conference in order to sensitize companies staff to the particular risk of corruption (mechanism, risks and way to prevent it).

  • In 2013, no corruption act or attempt has been noticed by the Ethic Committee, at the management level of the Group or at any subsidiarity level.
