    I am pleased to confirm that German Imaging Technologies (Dubai) LLC – GIT – reaffirms its support to the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.

    In this annual Communication of Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We also commit to sharing this information with our stakeholders using our primary channels of communication.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals

  • GIT takes measures to eliminate ingredients, designs, defects and side-effects that could harm or threaten human life and health during manufacturing, usage or disposal of products.
    GIT Working Environment Conditions (ISO doc 09) are monitored daily and reported monthly, under the responsibility of the production manager.
    In order to handle the emergency situation in case of fire, training on firefighting and first aid imparted to 5 employees from operations through a Government appointed agency.

  • To ensure clean and hazard free work environment, air and noise monitoring test are performed by third party in production shop floor, compressor room and back office areas.
    Every 3 months, the fire hydrant and extinguishers are serviced and also, we replaced a faulty, pressure regulator switch of compressor

Labour

  • GIT follows Agile and scrum methodology of managing company processes. Every quarter senior leadership team meets for offsite of two days, where planning for the quarter is done. OKR (Objectives and Key Results) are set for every team manager and the same are delegated to team members and they will have their own OKRs. OKRs process are monitored on a weekly basis. Teams meet every day for 15 mins and discuss their progress.

  • The recruitment process is based top grading process supported by 5/3 card (job responsibility and expectation from the new employee) and a scorecard which are regularly updated to reflect the any role changes. All candidates meet a recruitment committee who assesses their skills and competences, and rates their suitability to reach an objective consensus. Thorough reference checks are done to reduce cost of mis-hires.

Environment

  • GIT revisited and formalized all its environmental policies in June 2017, while applying for ISO14001 certification. GIT was audited by TUV Nord in September 2017 and successfully awarded the certificate for Environmental Management System ISO14001-2015.

    The very nature of GIT’s business is remanufacturing, we reuse whatever we can from our supplies and recycle whatever is not reusable.
    Toner left over from empty cartridges: 100% recycled via National Cement Factory (5400 kilograms from October 2018 to October 2019)
    Industrial hard plastic: 100% recycled via BEEHAH environmental management company and Enviroserve (5000 kilograms from October 2018 to October 2019)
    Aluminum and other metals: 100% recycled via various licensed recyclers (4500 kilograms from October 2018 to October 2019)
    Paper and cardboards: 100% recycled with Zenath Paper Recycle Mill (4500 kilograms from October 2018 to October 2019)
