    I am pleased to confirm that INTERTECH FZC reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.

    In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We also commit to share this information with our stakeholders using our primary channels of communication.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • INTERTECH FZC is committed to respect the Universal Declaration of Human rights and to have an irreproachable code of conduct towards it's employees, suppliers and clients. In addition INTERTECH FZC requires from its business partners and suppliers to adhere to the principles on Human Rights.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement Human Rights policies, address Human Rights risks and respond to Human Rights violations.

  • To prevent Humain Rights violation and to implement Human Right policies INTERTECH FZC has taken the following measures:

    - Renewal internal campaign for Yellow Fever Vaccination of all employees travelling to Africa
    - Suggestion box is installed for all employees to submit their complaints or issues.
    - Employee opinion survey on their managers to determine the overall level of job satisfaction in the workplace
    - Annually meeting with HR and Occupational Health Doctor to ensure the well being of all our employees

  • Measurement of outcomes

  • - Verification of small yellow booklets for all employees
    - Weekly review of the suggestion box by Top Management to take immediate actions
    - Annually employee opinion survey report review with top Management to take actions
    - Reports from the HR and the Occupational Health Doctor to prevent work-related illness and injury by monitoring the health of the workforce

Labour
  • Assessment, policy and goals

  • INTERTECH FZC written company policies state the freedom of association and collective bargaining, the employee rights and responsibilities and their compensation and benefits.
    INTERTECH FZC has focused this year on preventing all on-site work accidents for its employed labor.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions taken by the company to implement labour policies, address labour risks and respond to labour violations.

  • - Training of employees on Human Labour Rights has been conducted for all employees to raise the public awareness on Labour Rights issues
    - Suggestion box is installed for all employees to submit their complaints or issues.
    - New safety gear equipment to all on-site workers
    - New safety regulations implemented by site manager
    - Annually mandatory appointment with occupational health doctor, and available on employee's demand.

  • - Bi-weekly surprise visits to make sure all on-site workers are wearing their safety gear and that safety measures are being respected and followed
    - Reports from the HR and the Occupational Health Doctor to prevent work-related illness and injury by monitoring the health of the workforce
    - Weekly review of the suggestion box by Top Management to take immediate actions

Environment

  • Description of the relevance of environmental protection for the company (i.e. environmental risks and opportunities). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on environmental protection.

  • INTERTECH FZC recognises that it has a responsibility to the environment beyond legal and regulatory requirements. INTERTECH FZC is committed to reducing its environmental impact and continually improving its environmental performance as an integral part of its business strategy and operating methods, with regular review points. INTERTECH FZC will encourage customers, suppliers and other stakeholders to do the same by following its environmental policy

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement environmental policies, address environmental risks and respond to environmental incidents.

  • - Green team set up : a dedicated task force to channel ideas and energy into delivering energy efficiency and waste reduction.
    - Recycling bins is installed in all our offices
    - Only recycled papers are used at our offices and printing on papers is done only if necessary
    - Plastic cups, plastic plates and plastic cutlery are banned from our offices
    - Carpooling with coworkers is highly promoted in the company

  • The creation of a dedicated team within our employees to channel ideas increased the environmental awareness at our company. We reduced the consumption of papers by 35% in one year, and we increased the carpooling with coworkers.

Anti-Corruption

  • INTERTECH FZC anti-corruption policy is based on a zero-tolerance to corruption and bribery. We conduct all of our work in an honest and ethical manner and are committed to acting professionally, fairly and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships.

  • Implementation

  • - Training to all our employees on INTERTECH FZC anti-corruption policy
    - Disciplinary actions will take place to any employee who breach the anti-corruption policy, which could result in dismissal for gross misconduct
    - Procedure and policies are implemented to ensure transparent company accounts, and prohibiting the falsification of company records.
