    It is with pleasure I confirm that our company, Treeni Sustainability Solution, reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.
    Last year, we have submitted COP as per the “Express” option. This year, we have moved to “Basic” option, providing details in this annual Communication on Progress, on our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture, our operations and way we serve our clients.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals

  • We are committed to Universal Declaration of Human Rights and ensure that there is no human right abuse in our company. We continuously strive for gender equality and diversity in among our employees. Being a service firm in the space of sustainability, we not only strive to maintain excellence in human rights at our company but also help corporates achieve and ensure compliance to human rights through our services.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement Human Rights policies, address Human Rights risks and respond to Human Rights violations.

  • Being a company with total strength of 26 employees, consisting, mainly, with engineers and consultants, we do not have any human rights violations and we don't perceive any human rights risk in the near future. However, we have established grievance mechanism, in relation, to sexual harassment and discrimination to monitor and resolve any such issue in the future.

Labour
  • Assessment, policy and goals

  • We are committed to ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work and in line with the same; we uphold elimination of any type of forced labour, child labour and discrimination. We shall continue our effort to achieve and maintain gender diversity of 38% female employees, condition to competence. Due to the nature of our business and employee strength, our employees are not unionised and thus, does not fall under collective bargaining.

  • Our leadership is responsible for ensuring and upholding labour rights. We are committed to the overall well-being of our employees all our employees are covered under our company's medical insurance policy. In this context, we help our employees to maintain healthy lifestyle and have established remuneration and reward schemes to encourage our employees.
    In the last reporting period we have organised a 2-day employee program on “Food as Medicine” by well-known ayurvedic practioner Dr. Nikhil Mehta.
    Crossfit trainings were organised for employees twice a week by trained instructor. Employees baseline health and fitness data was collected and incentive offered to the fittest.
    50% of the gym membership for employees is covered by the company.
    Safety and safe driving is encouraged by the Leadership. We have a policy for use of Helmets for all employess driving 2-wheelers. Company has a policy for no-drink and drive after office get togethers and company makes arrangement for dropping employees home.
    Through our consulting service, we also help our clients in assessing their labour rights and ensuring compliance with ILO declaration.

  • We do not have any incident of forced labour, child labour or any other instance of violation to ILO declaration. We monitor our employees’ physical health. As of September 2017, we have gender diversity ratio of 8:5 (male: female), resulting to approximately 38% female employees. We have 1 female member in Treeni's leadership team, which is 25% of the total leadership team.

Environment

  • We are committed to conducting our business in environmentally conscious manner and minimize our negative environmental impact. Our IT product, Resustain, helps companies to monitor and manage their environmental and overall sustainability performance. We also help companies in the different areas of environment impact assessment and mitigation mechanisms.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement environmental policies, address environmental risks and respond to environmental incidents.

  • We conduct internal awareness and interaction sessions among all the employees to enhance knowledge on environment. We practice waste segregation (dry waste and wet waste) at our office location and we are committed to safe disposal of E-waste, if any. We are in the process of establishing procedure for monitoring monthly electricity consumption and business travels.
    We perform various meetings, internal as well as with our clients, through telephone and web service which helps in avoiding carbon emissions. We also encourage our employees to embrace environmentally friendly lifestyle at their personal level.

  • We did not have any incident of environmental violation during September 2016 to September 2017. We are in process of establishing procedure which will facilitate Treeni to monitor and compare our monthly energy consumption and business travel emissions.

Anti-Corruption

  • Being a private start-up firm, we are committed to UN Convention Against Corruption and have zero-tolerance towards bribery and other acts of corruption.

  • Our leadership is overall responsible for ensuring the practice of anti-corruption principle at Treeni. As a part of preventive mechanism, we communicate our company's approach towards anti-corruption and client's confidentiality to all our employees and shall continue to do the same.
