    I am pleased to confirm that Nina Interiors Ltd reaffirms its support to the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.

    In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We also commit to share this information with our stakeholders using our primary channels of communication

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • We at Nina Interiors support the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in its entirety.
    We ensure an 8hour working day through an automated check in-out machine. Overtime is paid for and properly regulated as per the employment act of Uganda and Nina Interiors Employment terms. Employees have freedom of association to advance their rights through an association - Nina Interiors Welfare Association.
    This year, as part of our business strategy, we are going to call upon our suppliers to subscribe and adhere to the Global Compact principles on Human Rights.

  • *Human Rights awareness training for all Nina Interiors Staff by end of year
    *A suggestion box to give information in confidence was put in place to report Human Rights abuses without fear of being victimized.
    * As part of our support to the Human Rights Principles, management last year passed an additional 3rd person to be added on the employee's health Insurance benefit.

Labour

  • *We uphold the freedom of association and collective bargaining through NIWA ( Nina Interiors Welfare Association).
    *We discourage any form of employment discrimination based on gender, race, political affiliation, or religious belief as spelt out in our employment manual. Nina Interiors Ltd is an equal opportunity employer.
    *Our appointment letters clearly state employee rights and responsibilities as well as their compensation and benefits.
    *This year, to make our workers safe at various work sites, we will provide safety work clothes and equipment (reflector jackets, work shoes, gloves, helmets, and ladders)
