    To our stakeholders:

    I am pleased to confirm that Eng Joo Precision Plastic Sdn Bhd reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.

    In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We also commit to share this information with our stakeholders using our primary channels of communication.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • Eng Joo believes that our employees shall be treated fairly where they should be paid promptly and work in a reasonably comfortable safe environment. We adhere to the Malaysian Labour department directive of conduct on our treatment to all our employees.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement Human Rights policies, address Human Rights risks and respond to Human Rights violations.

  • Suggestion box are positioned at the point of work punch in area where they may express their opinions and suggestion.
    Eng Joo does not hire underaged employees.

  • Measurement of outcomes
  • Description of how the company monitors and evaluates performance.

  • We have invited inspection officer from foreign country's ambassador office to inspect the quarters and working environment for our employees prior to their approval to allow their nationals to work at our premises. They have approved and satisfied with what we have provided.

Labour

  • All the employees in Eng Joo are provided with an employment contract stating the rights and responsibilities of the work. It also states clearly the wage, benefits and compensation.

  • Employees are presented with opportunities to upgrade and promote themselves where appraisal of performance is conducted yearly.
    Some of the general workers regardless of nationalities and sex have been able to move to senior position after great performance in the company.

  • There is appraisal by every level in the company on a yearly basis.
    Salary and benefits as well as work position will be affected by this yearly appraisal.

Environment

  • Eng Joo is an ISO14001 company where we strictly adhere to policy committed within.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement environmental policies, address environmental risks and respond to environmental incidents.

  • We recycle our waste aggressively and for non recyclable waste we send them to the appropriate department for treatment.

  • Measurement of outcomes
  • Description of how the company monitors and evaluates environmental performance.

  • Audit by the ISO14001 auditors is carried out yearly to assess our performance.
    We are currently accredited with ISO14001 certificate.

Anti-Corruption

  • We plan to set this (anti corruption) as our goal to achieve in the coming year

  • we may put in policy and training for all window persons to suppliers and customer on this anti corruption in this coming year.
