    I am pleased to confirm that An Mea reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.

    In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We also commit to share this information with our stakeholders using our primary channels of communication.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • Our Business Principles describe the way that we will conduct our business in line with our values. They describe the standards of conduct that our stakeholders should expect of us and outline our expectations for the people who work with us (employees, business partners and contractors).

    Our Business Principles specifically reference the UN Global Compact. As such, they state the following:

    What you can expect from An Mea: respect for your fundamental human rights.
    What An Mea expects from you: respect for the fundamental human rights and privacy of fellow team members and third parties

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement Human Rights policies, address Human Rights risks and respond to Human Rights violations.

  • We maintain the following controls to ensure compliance with the Human Rights aspects of our Business Principles:

    * Procedure on Breaches of Our Business Principles
    * Our Business Principles communications packs for our staff
    * Specific reference to our Business Principles in staff employment contracts and contracts with sub-contractors
    * Specific reference to our Business Principles in Contract HSEQ Plans prepared for clients

  • We establish annual targets relating to implementation of our Business Principles, review performance against these targets, and transparently report performance on our website.

    In the 2013/14 year we had no reported breaches of Our Business Principles

Labour

  • Description of the relevance of labour rights for the company (i.e. labour rights-related risks and opportunities). Description of written policies, public commitments and company goals on labour rights.

  • Our Business Principles describe the way that we will conduct our business in line with our values. They describe the standards of conduct that our stakeholders should expect of us and outline our expectations for the people who work with us (employees, business partners and contractors).

    They include our goals. One of these goals is to "provide a fair reward for our people". This goal drives our Policy on Remuneration.

    Our Business Principles specifically reference the UN Global Compact. As such, they state the following:

    What you can expect from An Mea:
    * equity in treatment and opportunity
    * professional development and fulfilling work
    * a safe and healthy work environment
    * consultation and involvement in decisions that may affect your health and safety
    * support for a worklife-homelife balance

    What An Mea expects from you:
    * responsibility for your own health and safety and that of your fellow team members
    * compliance with safety Procedures and reasonable direction of your supervisor
    * intervene to stop unsafe work

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions taken by the company to implement labour policies, address labour risks and respond to labour violations.

  • We maintain the following controls to ensure compliance with the Labour aspects of our Business Principles:

    * Procedure on Breaches of Our Business Principles
    * Our Business Principles communications packs for our staff
    * Specific reference to our Business Principles in staff employment contracts and contracts with sub-contractors
    * Specific reference to our Business Principles in Contract HSEQ Plans prepared for clients

    We also:

    * maintain a Management System that conforms with the requirements of AS/NZS 4801 Health and Safety Management System
    * actively support the United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety

  • Our Business Principles describe the way that we will conduct our business in line with our values. They describe the standards of conduct that our stakeholders should expect of us and outline our expectations for the people who work with us (employees, business partners and contractors).

    Our Business Principles specifically reference the UN Global Compact. As such, they state the following:

    What you can expect from An Mea:
    * continuous improvement in our environmental performance and commitment to the prevention of pollution
    * products and services that are carbon neutral and have no undue environmental impact

    What An Mea expects from you:
    * responsibility for reducing energy use, use of natural resources and minimising waste
    * compliance with Procedures to protect the environment
    * intervene to prevent environmental harm

  • We maintain the following controls to ensure compliance with the Environment aspects of our Business Principles:

Anti-Corruption

  • Our Business Principles describe the way that we will conduct our business in line with our values. They describe the standards of conduct that our stakeholders should expect of us and outline our expectations for the people who work with us (employees, business partners and contractors).

    Our Business Principles specifically reference the UN Global Compact. As such, they state the following:

    What you can expect from An Mea:
    * high standards of honesty, integrity and fairness
    * we do not offer or accept bribes. We do not make payments to political parties.

    What An Mea expects from you:
    * do not offer or accept bribes
    * notify us of any circumstance that may compromise our business integrity
