  • I. Dints International continues to implement/support the Global Compact and its principles relating to human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption.

    II. Practical actions that have been and are being taken include the following:

    2.1.Dints International has a policy to ensure the application of the Global Compact principles.
    2.2.It states this on its website.
    2.3.It is exploring ways of setting aside a percentage of its profits jointly with the profits of partners in developing countries to fund projects specifically aimed at improving living conditions and reducing poverty (in line with the Millennium Development Goals) in rural communities. It expects these projects to come to fruition in 2012 once a solid foundation for its investment partnerships in countries has been established. Initial discussions are already under way in some countries. Examples of these initiatives include:
    2.3.1 Internet based opportunities for small businesses to access skills, knowledge and finance;
    2.3.2 Community Radio Stations;
    2.3.3 Sustainable travel and tourism opportunities;
    2.3.4 Affordable clean water technologies;
    2.3.5 The transition of our business into a Community Interest Company operating a cooperative model in-country;
    2.3.6 Working with Artisan Miners to help them to achieve FairTrade Certification;
    2.3.7 Operating a transparent procurement model, i.e. supplying our clients with 3 prices from suppliers and charging an agreed markup.
    III. Dints International plans to introduce shortly a system for measuring how it makes a difference in countries by applying the Global Compact and improving the lives of people benefitting from above stated projects.
