How Corporate Reporting Can Help Inform National SDG Review Processes

Overview

Corporate reporting has the potential to have a significant impact not only on communities and businesses, but also on the national SDG review processes implemented by Governments. This session will provide you with insight and examples of how Governments are engaging businesses in their national SDG review processes and how data on businesses’ contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — or the Global Goals — help inform Voluntary National Reviews. During this session, participants will hear directly from Global Compact Local Networks and various Governmental representatives about how SDG disclosures by businesses can be collected and analyzed to help measure progress on the SDGs at the country level.

By completing this session and related learning materials, you will learn about:

  • The SDG review process and how data on businesses’ contributions to the SDGs can be used by Governments to inform their review processes
  • The steps companies can take to make their SDG reporting more relevant to Governments
