Government Luncheon

Overview

With more than half of the UN Global Compact’s 9,500 companies and 70 Local Networks operating in the Global South, the UN Global Compact has been mobilizing the private sector in these regions to help advance national priorities –in alignment with the UN at the local level. The luncheon will serve as an opportunity to provide a substantive briefing to member states with regard to activities and efforts being carried out at the local level.

In order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the global community must recognize that national ownership of the 2030 Agenda is paramount. It is at the local and national level where stakeholders have the space to align private action with national priorities – ensuring that people are at the center. With this in mind and anchored in the 2030 Agenda the Global Compact is committed to leaving no one behind and has set out an ambitious strategy to Make Global Goals Local Business.

Please note this luncheon is by invitation only.
