Join us for the inaugural session of UN Global Compact Academy: Taking a principles-based approach to the Global Goals

Please join us for the inaugural session of the new UN Global Compact Academy, featuring an interactive dialogue with Lise Kingo and John Ruggie on the need for a principles-based approach to the Global Goals — an approach that puts respect for human rights at the centre of business action.

Amid geopolitical uncertainties and environmental stress, responsible business can act as beacons for a more sustainable and secure world. The Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights provide a crucial framework to help the private sector generate value while reinforcing essential human values.

We must continue to raise our ambition of what we can achieve for the Global Goals, and what we expect of others.

This session will help Participants:

  • Understand the importance of a principles-based approach to the Global Goals
  • Explore what it means to operationalize this approach within your company while also identifying and harnessing the interconnectedness of the Global Goals
  • Discuss how negative impacts on society cannot be offset by intended contributions to the Global Goals

Featured Speakers:

John Ruggie,
Berthold Beitz Professor in Human Rights
and International Affairs at Harvard's
Kennedy School of Government

Lise Kingo,
CEO and Executive Director,
UN Global Compact
