Just, peaceful and inclusive societies provide a firm foundation for business to thrive. Businesses play a key role in creating these societies by investing in - and contributing to - sustainable development, particularly in high-risk, conflict-affected and post-conflict scenarios.
The 2017 Business for Peace Annual Event is the key convening for business representatives seeking to engage in peace and humanitarian action. Co-organized by the Global Compact Network Colombia, the UN Peacebuilding Support Office and hosted by the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, the event brings together over 200 leaders from business, investment, civil society, governments, the UN and Global Compact Local Networks. The focus of this year’s gathering is to collaboratively explore innovative approaches to sustaining peace.
- Scale-up private sector contributions in high-risk and post-conflict settings aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals- particularly SDG16 and Agenda for Humanity;
- Explore opportunities to develop multi-stakeholder innovative financing solutions for sustainable peace; and
- Showcase experiences and lessons learned from Colombia and around the world to inspire and expand the B4P community.
