Overview

UN Global Compact is organizing a special event at the sidelines of the Seventh session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption in Vienna, Austria on 7 November 2017. The Special Event will convene private sector participants, anti-corruption and good governance experts, international organizations and civil society to engage in an in-person consultation on the proposed UN Global Compact Action Platform on Justice and Strong Institutions, to be launched in 2018.

The in-person consultation will be followed by a thematic session organized by UN Global Compact and UNODC on the role of the private sector in advancing anti-corruption and promoting transparency. Organized in collaboration with GSK, the session will explore ways in which the private sector is promoting transparency and reducing corruption risks through the use of innovative mechanisms, including e-government solutions and in-country collective action initiatives. The session will also explore the positive impact of private sector cooperation with Governments in advancing these anti-corruption mechanisms.
