    I sincerely confirm that Chikatai Llc reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.

    In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We also commit to share this information with our stakeholders using our primary channels of communication.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • 1. Ensure the work environment safety and the sanitary of the workplace is at the highest level
    2. Ensure the workers have access to the vaccine and free PCR tests if necessary

  • Implementation

    2. Ensure that non of the workers work additional hours - daily report signed by workers by the end of the working day
    3. Offering the consultation with the psychologist if they feel the need for their personal problems but no such case occurred so far

  • 1. Periodic interviews with employees about their working environment and needs - no complaints received so far

Labour

  • 1. Our company ensures to be in compliance with minimum wage standards of our country
    2. Our Company has a written policy that clearly state employees rights and responsibilities and their compensation and benefits
    3. 7 hour working day that is less than the official working day by our legislation
    4. Workers can choose the start time of their working day to adjust with their daily life and needs

  • 1. Reporting of working hours by each worker on a daily bases
    2. All employees have right to take a day off whenever they need
    3. Employees can address top management anytime with any issue if they feel the need
    4. Employees can ask for any training courses they would like to attend (in or out the scope of their direct work field) if the company has access to it for free it will be arranged as we support endorsement of our employees in any direction if we have the recourses

  • 1. Non of the employees left the job
    2. Periodic interviews with our employees show that all of them are satisfied or happy on their positions
    3. Last interview in the beginning of October showed the need of adding a new staff member and we immediately reacted and new staff member will join our team from 01.11.2021

Environment

  • 1. We have added sustainable line of products in collaboration with other brands which corresponds to Goal 12 - sustainable consumption and production and Goal 17 - Partnership for the Goals
    2. We do not produce big amount of products for big stocks and make them upon request to avoid overproduction
    3. We have modeled new project - Toy Hospital which addresses Goal 12 - sustainable consumption and production - repairing soft toys to prolong the lifecycle of the product to combat overconsumption

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement environmental policies, address environmental risks and respond to environmental incidents.

  • 1. We collect the leftovers from the cutting stage from kids apparel brand and make new recycled baby decor products from their leftovers
    2. We collect our final fabric leftovers from 01.08.2021 and from 01.11.2021 we will send them to textile recycling company for further reuse
    3. Toy hospital - children have an opportunity to get the real life experience of taking care of their beloved toys and at the same time, we explain why this kind of action matters and how it positively impacts the environment we live in. It is a kind of a role play which at the same time educates them. Consumers are able to bring their damaged soft toys and we will fix them regardless of the brand. Any soft toy will be fixed by our Toy hospital doctor to prolong the lifecycle of the product and avoid buying a new one. We believe that this project will help parents share the right values with their children and this little role-play will have positive impact on forming a right mindset and responsible attitude of the new generation.

  • 1. First successful cooperation with Children's brand Spilow helped us to gain a new partner company Eshvi Kids for our sustainable line
    2. In December 2020 Chikatai won the bigest business award in Georgia -TBC Business Award 2020 for Special CSR - the sustainable line project and Charity project with WWF Georgia

Anti-Corruption

  • 1. As our company is very small at the moment every process is very transparent
    2. At the moment we are working on the document of zero-tolerance for corruption, bribery and extortion

  • Transparency of all processes and very low beurocracy makes it impossible for corruption to exist in our company

  • No incidents of corruption occurred so far
