    I am pleased to confirm that Globus Wine reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.
    In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We also commit to sharing this information with our stakeholders using our primary communication channels.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • At Globus wine, we care about the employees and their human rights. We also care about our supply chain and the people working in the fields and producing the wine. Within Globus Wine own location, we have initiated a well-being questionnaire where employees yearly receive the opportunity to rate the workplace within 23 parameters of well-being; here, sexual harassment, bullying, violence, threats and stress are some of the topics included.

    Within the supply chain control, every supplier, service provider, and business partner must sign our code of conduct that implies the supplier to ensure that none of the disclaimers, human rights, discrimination, abuse, oppression and harassment is violated.

  • Implementation

  • Globus wine has an HR representative where the responsibility of human rights is allocated. In this position, further actions within well-being and personal employee development is developed and continuously controlled.

    Furthermore, all employees must read the Staff Handbook, where topics are described as harassment and bullying within the workplace. Every employee must also read Globus wines ethical rules that state that gender discrimination and racism is not tolerated within the workplace. These documents are in place, and every employee must follow the guidelines.

    If a supplier, service provider or business partner does not follow the human rights and social conditions mentioned in the code of conduct, Globus Wine has the right to prosecute the supplier.

  • In 2021 Globus Wine is extensively focusing on employee well-being and personal development. Within Well-being, the goal is to score above the Danish average within the same industry (food & beverage production). If there is a year where the well-being drops, the HR department will investigate and take action to ensure that the well-being issues are being handled. In 2021, a personal development plan for every employee will be conducted to invest in the employees and make sure they can achieve their goals within the company. In 2021 the plans and follow-ups are initiated.

    The suppliers must sign the code of conduct and agree to the terms within. No goods are purchased before the code of conduct is submitted to Globus Wine. Every year Globus wine monitors if there has been any purchase without a signed code of conduct.

Labour
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of labour rights for the company (i.e. labour rights-related risks and opportunities). Description of written policies, public commitments and company goals on labour rights.

  • Within Globus Wine employees must read the Staff Handbook, where topics are as their right to uphold the freedom of association and collective bargaining. These documents are in place, and every employee must follow the guidelines. We respect our employees' right to be members of any trade association, organisation, or union of their choice. We see it as a human right to choose freely between organisations.

    Within the control of the supply chain, every supplier, service provider, and business partner must sign our code of conduct that implies the supplier to ensure that none of the disclaimers, "Freedom of association" and "Child labour", are violated.

  • In 2020, Globus Wine introduced an equal pay system to production employees to ensure contract uniformity and fixed hourly rates within the operating hours.

    The responsibility of labour rights is allocated to the HR employees at Globus wine. If the policies are violated, employees can go to HR to address the problem. Globus wine has signed the code of conduct as well and can be prosecuted if they violate the, e.g., "Freedom of association" and "Collective bargaining".

  • At Globus Wine, we take health and safety seriously. As a wine filling company, there will be a risk of accidents on the production sites, and we are continuously monitoring the employee safety in the production. We work actively to prevent accidents and injuries.

    If a supplier, service provider, and business partner does not follow the labour principles mentioned in the code of conduct, Globus Wine has the right to prosecute the supplier.

Environment

  • Description of the relevance of environmental protection for the company (i.e. environmental risks and opportunities). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on environmental protection.

  • We have begun this journey by looking at our use of water, waste and energy sources and our potential to improve our product packaging. These initiatives only mark the start of a more systematic, documented and data-driven journey.

    Globus wine monitors its water, waste and electricity use within the company. Every year in our CSR report (non-financial report), these numbers are outlined to show transparency and progress. In 2021 KPI's are set up, and further deep dive into the environmental part of our business has begun. We see this as a journey where we can continuously improve. At the end of the year, we are ready with our 2030 Goals for our company.

    Within the control of the supply chain, every supplier, service provider, and business partner must sign our code of conduct that implies the supplier to ensure that none of the disclaimers within the environmental part is violated. Suppliers and others are encouraged to reduce emissions soil and water use. And to efficiently use resources.

    In 2021 we also conducted an LCA on our business model; read more about it in our upcoming CSR report.

  • Globus wine has established ambassador corps to ensure that every employee has direct contact with a sustainability ambassador. This ensures that the employees have a voice in the sustainability journey and can rely on and help each other to ensure a daily focus on the area. Also, in 2021, sustainability training has been rolled out to employees to get to know the SDG goals. Furthermore, Globus Wine emissions have been calculated, and KPI's for different environmental parameters has been established and monitored.

    This year we build the Sustainability KPI universe and continually monitor and ensure we collect the correct data for the journey. We have taken actions within every KPI to ensure a decrease of the KPI. Every three months, there is an evaluation of the KPI's, and it is possible to withdraw information every month for a status.

    All the CO2 is calculated for scopes 1 & 2 within Globus Wine, and these numbers are in progress of target setting. Our results will be outlined in our CSR report at the end of the year.

Anti-Corruption

  • Globus Wine work to prevent all forms of corruption, including extortion and bribery. We recognise our responsibility throughout our value chain, and our global and local activities must always comply with anti-corruption legislation. Strict disciplinary actions are taken in case of a violation of our zero-tolerance to corruption.

  • Implementation

  • Our main risks are identified to be non-compliance with our company policies concerning our suppliers and partners, which are tracked through the number of annual reported corruption cases.

    We ensure due diligence through our supplier code of conduct towards our suppliers. We include anti-corruption as a part of our code of conduct to ensure that suppliers enforce anti-corruption. Within our operations, our anti-corruption focus is guided by our ethics policy. Employees are not allowed to offer or accept bribes or any improper payment for personal or corporate gain. All employees sign our ethics policy as part of their onboarding training, which outlines policies and actions in relation to customers, employees, and other parties. In the staff handbook, which every employee must also sign, a whistle-blower policy is described to ensure that employees can anonymously report corruption or bribery cases.

    In 2020, Globus Wine experienced zero cases of violation of our ethics policy. Further initiatives to strengthen the enforcement of our anti-corruption focus will be evaluated during 2021 as part of a holistic prioritisation of new sustainability initiatives.

    The Whistle-blower scheme will be tracked and monitored.
