  • I am pleased to confirm that United European Car Carriers reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.

    In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We also commit to sharing this information with our stakeholders using our primary channels of communication.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • Ensure workers are provided safe, suitable and sanitary work facilities
    Protect workers from workplace harassment, including physical, verbal, sexual or psychological harassment, abuse or threats

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement Human Rights policies, address Human Rights risks and respond to Human Rights violations.

  • UECC has robust policies in place to ensure that it is compliant with all Human Rights policies and to ensure these are upheld there is also an applicable Whistle Blowing policy and system in place so any perceived violations of Human Rights or any other policy, there is an option for this to be reported and anonymously if necessary.

  • Measurement of outcomes

  • UECC strongly relies on KPI's and these are continuously reviewed and adjusted accordingly if required.

Labour

  • UECC has written policies addressing our commitment and requiring the commitment of our suppliers to ensure there is no child, forced or underpaid labor as well as a number of other important rights.

Environment

  • Avoid environmental damage via regular maintenance of production processes and environmental protection
    system (air pollution control, waste, water treatment systems, etc.)

    Minimize the use and ensure safe handling and storage of chemical and other dangerous substances
    Reduce quantity of harmful GHG emissions

  • Raising of sustainability agenda to all staff
    Workshops with customers to highlight work required to reduce supply chain environmental effect
    Introduction of carbon neutral biofuels
    Integration of AI to reduce consumption and emissions on 3 vessels

  • Voyage monitoring and reporting to EU and IMO
    Internal measurements of carbon neutral fuel use and consequential reduction in harmful GHG emissions

Anti-Corruption

  • UECC has a written company policy of zero tolerance for any sort of corruption.
    Plans put in place to guide any employee who may face any exposure to corruption

  • Annual training is given by legal department on corruption, antibribery, competition law and UECC's Code of Conduct.
