  • STATEMENT

    We, at Elcom International Pvt. Ltd., acknowledge the United Nations Global Compact’s Ten Principles and are honored to mentioned that, we have aligned our organizational functionalities in synchronization with the same.

    As we continue to operate in a dynamic, diverse and vast global marketplace, we are committed to highest standards of organizational ethics that abide by the principles of Human Rights and Fair Labor practices.

    At Elcom, providing a conducive work environment to our People is the key to our success. We constantly thrive to become a preferred employer and our culture is free of any discrimination. Bonded labor or child labor is strictly prohibited.

    Further, we acknowledge the undisputed importance of Environmental Sustainability. There are systems in place, to ensure that, our business activities are not affecting the Environment. We work on utilization of resources to their optimum, in order to minimize the impact on Environment in the form of resource depletion. At Elcom, we rigorously observe conformance to the international standards for Environment Management Systems.

    We are committed to fair business practices and do not encourage any form of corruption. Elcom’s Code of Conduct and Business Ethics is a guiding document for all associates in matters pertaining to ethical business practices.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • EIPL fully considers and respects the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and supports sustainable development goals.
    Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages. EIPL have established and maintained system based on the principles of ISO 26000 which take care of the employees in the operation directly or indirectly with the organisation and also caters for the society where the organisation is in operation.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement Human Rights policies, address Human Rights risks and respond to Human Rights violations.

  • Written corporate procedures and policies, system manuals and directives are compliant with UNGC principals, ISO 26000 guidelines and requirements of OHSAS 18001 standard.
    Also, continual Awareness programs about human rights through corporate procedures and policies are being created through the training programmes and during the induction training.
    Following of Elcom’s values are focused on protection of human rights:
    Humility – At all levels within the organization, Elcom practises humility. This percolates down to the very basic principle of “Respect for Individual”.
    Practise Righteousness – Elcom as an organization ensures to practise righteousness in all its business activities. Other than fair and ethical business practises, it also demonstrates the way the organization nurtures its people through encouragement, empowerment and by providing them personal development and growth opportunities.
    Every task is handled with dignity and every employee is treated with respect.
    Conformity – Other than its conformance to various international standards of business activities, Elcom also conforms to various HR compliances such as the implementation of OHSAS 18001:2007 ensures safe working conditions at all stages of business processes.
    Other than the aforementioned, Elcom has a policy in effect for prevention of sexual harassment of women at workplace, and the organization has a ‘zero tolerance’ approach towards same. Periodic meetings of the designated committee for prevention of sexual harassment are being conducted and same has resulted in employees’ awareness on this critical subject.
    As an organization, we ensure that at no point of time we are complicit in human rights abuses such as discrimination, harassment, exploitation and all similar.
    A system has been placed on conflict mineral to prohibit procurement of tin that has been sourced from mines that support and fund conflict within the Democratic Republic of Congo or adjoining countries by implementing CMRT declaration.

  • An open-door and suggestion box policy has been established where employees can report grievances to upper management. No report has been filed over human rights violation issue.

Labour

  • Elcom’s framework of policies and procedures acknowledges Social Accountability, mentioned below are the prime focus areas:
    - Fair Employment Practises
    - Acknowledge the right of Collective Bargaining
    - Gender Equality
    - Safe & Healthy Working Conditions for All through implementation of Occupational Health and Safety Management Standard ( OHSAS 18001:2007 )

  • Implementation

    - Employees are being educated and periodic trainings are being taken on the above policies.
    - Designated committees are in function for ‘Canteen’, ‘Prevention of Sexual Harassment’, ‘First Aid & Emergency Handling‘, ‘ Safety ‘and ‘Grievance Redressal’.
    - Compliance of aforementioned matters is periodically reviewed by the Management.

  • There has not been any case reported on:

    d) Grievance for favouritism/inequality

Environment

  • Elcom is fully aware of the environmental challenges and has exerted a very
    proactive role to ensure that it leaves the minimum carbon footprints. The organisation supports the UNGC principles on environment and has established systems for periodic monitoring of the environmental impact of its activities.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement environmental policies, address environmental risks and respond to environmental incidents.

  • The initiatives taken by the organization are as follows:

    1. Implementation of Environmental Management System ISO 14001:2015
    2. Extensive tree plantation in and around the plant site.

    3. Training on conservation of resources, Elcom encourages mass transport in buses. Awareness on wasting food and drinking water in the canteen through regular periodic training & counselling.
    4. Installing translucent sheet on roof top to let sunlight be used during the day
    Time and thereby reduce the requirement of electricity.
    5. Energy reduction through energy efficient machines and processes, installation of Energy efficient LED lighting fixtures. Power factor being monitored for efficient use of electricity.
    6. Monitoring of consumption of resources (water, electricity, materials).
    7. Recycle / Reuse of Polymeric waste, Non Ferrous Material & Treated water
    8. Monitoring of the environmental parameters.
    9. Integration of Eco Design features in Product Design.
    10. Disposal of Hazardous waste through Pollution Control authorized agency only.

  • Measurement of outcomes

  • An improvement is noted in the following areas

    1. 3.67 % of Polymeric scrap being reused more with respect to Last Year.
    2.10 % reduction in generation of Lumps with respect to Last Year..
    3.8.50 % of reduction in Electricity consumption in Mold Shop (Electrical power Consumed in Units / RM processed in Kg)
    4.370.95 KL/Month treated water reused for gardening activity

Anti-Corruption

  • “Practise Righteousness” is one of the key foundations of Elcom and a guiding principle in all the business transactions and behaviour. The policies effected by Elcom are strictly against any form of unethical practise such as bribery, gifts, benefitting their relatives or family members, etc.
    Elcom promotes healthy and competitive business environment in which each of its employees is encouraged to operate with higher standards of ethics

  • EIPL has implemented following polices in the work System and periodic awareness trainings being conducted:
    - Anti-bribery Policy & Procedure
    - Fair Business Practices Policy
    - Code Of Conduct and Business Ethics
    - Information Security Policy
    Also, following actions are initiated for fair business practices
    - Employee code of conduct is signed by all the employees.
    - Acknowledgement of Supplier code of conduct, Anti-Bribery Commitment and NDA being obtained from suppliers.
