    To our stakeholders:

    I am pleased to confirm that Maritime Craft Services (Clyde) Ltd reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.

    In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We also commit to share this information with our stakeholders using our primary channels of communication.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • Maritime Craft Services (Clyde) Ltd continues to actively support the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and we commit to ensuring that all employees are treated with respect and treated fairly. We ensure that any recruitment agencies we use are also committed.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement Human Rights policies, address Human Rights risks and respond to Human Rights violations.

  • We have a grievance policy in place, an equal opportunities policy and a corporate social responsibility policy in place. We continue to adhere to the Maritime Labour Convention (2006) and receive annual audits to ensure compliance. As part of the MLC (2006) seafarers also have access to an on-board compliance procedure.

  • MCS has not been subject to any legal cases or incidents involving human rights.

Labour
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of labour rights for the company (i.e. labour rights-related risks and opportunities). Description of written policies, public commitments and company goals on labour rights.

  • MCS agrees with and works to the ILO Core Conventions and will not do business with any organisation who uses forced or child labour. We only use agencies that are MLC (2006) compliant/certified and are ISO 9001 certified - both MLC and ISO 9001 certified agencies undergo audits from external agencies.
    All of our employees receive a written statement of terms and conditions which clearly details compensation, benefits, timing of payments. All employees receive payslips.

  • We continue to comply with MLC (2006) legislation and we are ISO 9001 certified. We ensure all recruitment agencies we work with also comply with both and undergo external verification. Our WISH card system also allows employees to submit issues, concerns either on a named or anonymous basis.

  • Wish Cards continue to be submitted and encouraged via a small prize. Recruitment agencies are vendor assessed and certification checked- 100% adherence of recruitment agencies to MLC and ISO 9001 certification.

Environment

  • We continue to maintain our ISO 14001 environmental management certification and have an environmental policy in place which is part of our management system and is reviewed regularly with undergoes external audit. We monitor our carbon footprint and consumption.

  • Implementation

  • AS above our ISO 14001 certification mean that we undergo internal and external audits to ensure our compliance. We also continue to have our Whistle Blowing Policy to allow employees to report any breaches.

  • We remain ISO 14001 certified and no whistleblowing statements or compliance received.

Anti-Corruption

  • We are compliant with the bribery act and we do not participate in any practices involving bribery, corruption or extortion. We support the UN Convention Against Corruption. Our Corporate Social Responsibility policy affirms our commitment to fair business practices.

  • We have the following policies in place: Corporate Social Responsibility, Anti-Bribery & Corruption and Whistleblowing Policy. These policies are reviewed regularly to ensure effectiveness.

  • No compliance/issues raised under any of the above policies.
    Our annual accounts and externally audited and submitted annually to Companies House, UK.
    We have had no legal cases or rulings related to bribery or corruption.
