    The company has zero tolerance policy for any sort of human rights abuse.

    The company will discontinue business relations with such supplier who will be found in any sort of human rights abuse.

    POLICY FOR PROHIBITION OF HARASSMENT OR ABUSE

    H.NIZAM DIN & SONS (PVT.) LTD. does not engage in or support the use of Corporal punishment, mental or physical coercion and verbal abuse.

    Company promotes work environment in which no form of harassment is used by its supervisory staff towards the workers particularly female workers.

    Company discourages use of any form of verbalism or gestures regarding sexual harassment towards its female staff and workers.

    Company abides to follow legal disciplinary laws and procedures when the need for disciplining any worker arises. Under no circumstances will the concerned manager or section Incharge resort to using physical/mental means to punish any worker.

    POLICY FOR FORCED OR COMPULSORY LABOR

    Company does not require employees to submit originals of documents at the time of employment or during the period a person is employed with the company for the purpose of verification of education or age proof until unless it’s become necessary.

    Company does not do business with vendors/suppliers found to be using forced labor in any form through direct or in direct means.

    1. Place Suggestion Boxes in different areas of the facility.
    2. We display all company policies against local laws for employees awareness.
    3. Established different employees committees to ensure employees human rights (Health & Safety, Cafeteria, Employee
    Warfare, Environment, Machine Safety etc.)
    4. Hired Manager Human Resource to provide training against human rights

  • At Nizam Din & Sons (Pvt.) Limited, we have following mechanism to measuring the effectiveness of Human Rights

    1. Manager Administration responsible to check and review Suggestion Boxes on Weekly basis and also share employees
    grievance with the top management and resolve accordingly.
    2. Manager Social Compliance conduct meetings related with (Health & Safety, Cafeteria, Employee Warfare, Environment,
    Machine Safety) and develop action plan for submission of top management for its implementation.
    3. Conduct external audits from SGS, ALGI to monitor Human Rights.

Labour

  • POLICY FOR FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION AND COLLECTIVE BARGAINING

    H. NIZAM DIN & SONS (PVT.) LTD. recognizes and respects the rights of employees to exercise their lawful rights of free association and collective bargaining.

    The company does not discriminate against employees who form or participate in lawful associations and/or collective bargaining. Forms of discrimination include, but are not limited to:

    • Wage penalties
    • Suspension
    • Termination

    The company does not illegally discriminate against employees who choose not to join any association or bargain collectively.

    POLICY FOR COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

    H. NIZAM DIN & SONS (PVT.) LTD. pays at least the total minimum compensation required by local laws, including all mandated wages, allowances and benefits to its workers and staff.

    Company does not pay less than the minimum wage prescribed by the local law to unskilled workers. To other category of workers, wages paid will be in line with those prevailing in the industry at the time, which also provides some discretionary income.

    Company posts legal minimum wage rates, overtime rates, benefit policies, and additional payment information in the native language.

    Company ensures that its contractor pays piece-rate workers at a rate at least equivalent to total minimum compensation required by local laws per month.

    If a piece rated worker is earning less than minimum wages in any month, the company will compensate remaining amount to him on voucher to maintain minimum wages.

    H. NIZAM DIN & SONS (PVT.) LTD. utilizes all available resources to provide a Healthy and Safe working environment for all its workers and to eliminate all potential hazards that are capable of causing work related accidents.

    Company through a systemized mechanism detects potential risk and hazards associated with the job or present in the work environment which could cause harm / injury to the workers.

    Company provides all necessary personal protective equipment’s and implements controls to ensure the safety of the workers and their health.

    Established Compliance Department to develop and ensure implementation of all system operating procedures and policies against Employees Grievance, Training Awareness against Labor Rights, Employees Health & Safety, Employees Discrimination issues, Employee Freedom of Association, Force Labor, Child Labor etc.

Limited, Our Compliance Department is responsible to conduct Internal Audits against Local Laws and Global Labor Principles and review implementation and effectiveness of (Child Labor, Force Labor, Working Hours, Compensation & Benefits, Freedom of Association, Health & Safety, Working Environment, Discrimination, Employees Grievances, Harassment & Abuse, Disciplinary Practices) and develop Non-Compliance Report and circulate to the management for corrective action.

    POLICY FOR AIR EMISSIONS CONTROL

    H. NIZAM DIN & SONS (PVT.) LTD. ensures that the air emissions from the site must remain under the assigned NEQS limits of local and international environmental laws.

    The company ensures the regular periodic testing’s from the environmental agencies nominated by state government. In case of any result being over the limits of standard NEQS the company will take immediate corrective action.

    POLICY FOR CHEMICALS AND HAZARDOUS MATERIALS

    H. NIZAM DIN & SONS (PVT.) LTD. ensures a systematic approach towards the identification, proper stacking, safe handling, movement, storage, recycling or reuse and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials.

    The company completely comply local and international environmental laws for the handling, storage and disposal of chemicals.

    POLICY FOR RECYCLING WASTE AND CONSERVING ENERGY

    The company Monitor and economize the Cost of Energy with respect to products, processes and systems through Energy Information Management System.

    POLICY FOR WASTE WATER AND SOLID WASTE

    H. NIZAM DIN & SONS (PVT.) LTD. ensures that effluent that goes out of the factory premises must comply with the local laws, standard in order to avoid ground water pollution and followed all local laws & Client requirements.

    All waste is kept separately at identified area and ensure the safe disposal of hazardous wastes to authorized licensed companies on timely basis and followed all local laws & Client requirements.

  • Keep always a current copy of NEQS of Sindh EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and implement and maintain a environmental impact assessment through applicable requirement.

    Compliance Manager is responsible to ensure compliance of environment policy.
    - Since the nature of production is mainly knitting as the main waste, the following industrial waste has been identified.
    - Air emissions due to generator
    - Solid waste of yarn from knitting, pressing, finishing and packing and paper from the offices.
    - Noise in the Generator room, knitting area when all machines are in operation.
    - Drinking Water
    - Waste Water

    ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT
    -----------------------------------------------------------
    Compliance Section seeks the updated NEQS from the Sind EPA or from different buyers for whom Company is working.
    Compliance Section will facilitate the environmental impact assessment.
    Compliance Section ensures the testing of drainage water, Drinking Water, generator smoke and compares the results against the NEQS.
    Where required, Compliance Manager identifies the mitigation measures including use of Personal Protective Equipment.

    TRAINING AND AWARENESS

    H. Nizam Din & Sons (Pvt.) Limited has ensured that any person(s) performing tasks for it or on its behalf that have the potential to cause a significant environmental impact(s) identified by the organization are competent on the basis of appropriate education, training or experience, and shall retain associated records.

    H. Nizam Din & Sons (Pvt.) Limited has identified training needs associated with its environmental aspects and its environmental management system. Monthly training plan is chalked out and trainings are provided to staff as per defined training plan. Training records are maintained.

    EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION

    All policies of HNDS are communicated to interested parties on as and when required basis through notices or circulars.

  • H. Nizam Din & Sons (Pvt.) Limited has ensured that internal audits of the environmental management system are conducted at planned intervals to determine whether the environmental management system:
    1. Conforms to planned arrangements for environmental management including the requirements of this International
    Standard, and has been properly implemented and is maintained, and
    2. Provide information on the results of audits to management.

    Annual Audit Schedule is prepared implemented and maintained by the organization, taking into consideration the environmental importance of the operation(s) concerned and the results of previous audits. Selection of auditors and conduct of audits have ensured objectivity and the impartiality of the audit process.

Anti-Corruption

  • POLICY FOR CORRUPTION
    ---------------------------------------
    H.NIZAM DIN & SONS (PVT.) LTD. has a policy that corruption, fraud, theft, maladministration or any other/ dishonest activities of a similar nature will not be tolerated. In addition, such irregular activities will be investigated and followed up by the application of all remedies available within the full extent of the law.

    Actions constituting corruption, fraud, theft and maladministration collectively refer to, but are not limited to:

    • Any dishonest, fraudulent or corrupt act;
    • Theft of funds, supplies, or other assets;
    • Maladministration or financial misconduct in handling or reporting of money, financial transactions or other assets;
    • Making a profit from insider knowledge;
    • Disclosing confidential or proprietary information to outside parties;
    • Irregularly accepting, requesting, offering or giving anything of material value to or from contractors, suppliers or other
    persons providing services/goods to the company;
    • Irregular destruction, removal or abuse of records, furniture and equipment;
    • Any similar or related irregularity and deliberately omitting or refusing to report or act upon reports of any such irregular or
    dishonest conduct.

    This policy is applicable to all management (Jr. Management, Middle Management, and Sr. Management) employees working at HND. (Permanent and Contractual positions at the Factory).

  • Suggestion Box also source to received anti-corruption issues, but we have established Internal Audit Department to cover whole factory and conduct audit on daily basis.

    Training also be provided to all employees and nominate middle / top management team member to investigate anti-corruption matters.

    Anti-Fraud Committee consists of following members:

    1. Financial Controller
    2. Head of Internal Audit
    3. Head of Human Resources
