    I am pleased to confirm that Materials Technologies reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.
    In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We also commit to share this information with our stakeholders using our primary channels of communication.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • MATERIALS TECHNOLOGIES distributes a Code of Ethic to all employees in the company. Protection of Internationally recognized principles including Human Rights is expressly part of this Code.
    Business Partners and Suppliers are also requested to adhere to this principle and to all those listed in the UN Global Compact, which are also part of the MATERIALS Technologies’ Suppliers Charter that suppliers are required to sign and encouraged to implement. Business Partners such as agents or external consultants must undergone a screening on ethics.

  • Implementation
  • Description of concrete actions to implement Human Rights policies, address Human Rights risks and respond to Human Rights violations.

  • Employees and third parties can use any tool to report potential claims, such as hierarchy, employee representatives, external auditors and public authority since Materials Technologies subsidiaries and partners are mostly implemented in countries where laws to guarantee human right are strong.

    Materials Technologies regularly consult with Employees representatives.

    The majority of suppliers assessed through the Ecovadis assessment (suppliers’ sustainability rating program) are not located in countries which are identified as risky.

Labour
  • Assessment, policy and goals

  • Business Partners and Suppliers are requested to adhere to this principle and to all those listed in the UN Global Compact, which are also part of the MATERIALS Technologies Suppliers Charter that suppliers are required to sign and encouraged to implement.
    Business Partners such as agents or external consultants must undergo a screening on ethics, obviously including Labour principle.
    Materials Technologies undergoes project to reduce work arduousness in its workshops.

  • Materials Technologies takes various actions:
    - It values good labor relations and ensure that a continuous communication with employee representatives exists. Materials Technologies management regularly exchange with local employee representatives.
    - Materials Technologies also holds various events to increase awareness about disabled employees and professional integration.
    - The group organizes Internal audits that make it reviews and improves ergonomics of some workstation to reduce risk of musculoskeletal disorders

    The group invests in new semi automatized equipment to reduce risk of musculoskeletal disorders in its workshop

Environment

  • Materials Technologies ensures sustainability in the management of all its activities and is committed to minimize its impact on the environment.
    The group is also committed to design equipment and lines to help its clients to reduce environmental impact by manufacturing products that lower buildings’ impacts on environment.

    Materials Technologies supports COP21 conference by showcasing production solutions that help to reduce CO2 emission.

  • Materials Technologies takes concrete action to implement environmental policies and reduce environmental footprint of its activities :
    - it further develops greener data center (virtualization of servers, cloud computing) and reduced its electricity consumption.
    - It develops a strong waste management policy end make sure all employees are following good practices
    - new equipment design reduced building materials plants energy consumption by 15% raw materials and cement by 8%.
    - the group engage itself in a very ambitious program to develop virtual simulation and commissioning thus reducing transportation and energy consumption.
    - The company supports COP 21 activities, showcasing its new development to produce building materials with high thermal performance

    An external an independent company is evaluation CO2 emission reduction linked to the use of building materials produced with Materials Technologies’ssolutions.

Anti-Corruption

  • Anti corruption principles are expressly part of Materials Technologies Code of Ethics, which is distributed to all employees in the company.
    Business Partners and Suppliers are requested to adhere to this principle and to all those listed in the UN Global Compact.
    All these principle are also part of the Materials Technologies Suppliers Charter that suppliers are required to sign and encouraged to implement.
    Business Partners such as agents or external consultants must undergone a screening on ethics which includes questions on potential links with political parties or place of payment for their services.
