    I am pleased to confirm that NAPA reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.

    In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We also commit to share this information with our stakeholders using our primary channels of communication.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • NAPA supports and respects the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We will not carry out business with any countries or regimes where flagrant human rights abuses are known to exist.

  • NAPA has a range of Human Resources policies which reflect our pro-active stance on human rights. NAPA has no external suppliers in countries that do not respect human rights.

  • To date, NAPA has not been subject to any investigations, legal cases or incidents involving Human Rights violations.

Labour
  • Assessment, policy and goals

  • Rights to freedom of association, freedom from discrimination, collective bargaining and the elimination of forced and child labour are captured in constitutions of all NAPA Group operating countries. NAPA fully supports these principles.

    We monitor our suppliers, customers as well as our internal policies for commitment to the labour principles. As necessary, We apply policies and procedures to support enforcing these principles.

    NAPA does annual employee surveys and semi-annual pulse surveys across NAPA Group and follow up the results. We aim at continuous improvement and have clear action plans based on the survey results.

    NAPA employees are issued with a contract of employment which clearly states their terms and conditions, as well as Personnel Guide that provides information for staff on employment matters. Personnel Guide is a guide with an overview of working conditions, employee benefits, as well as the policies covering the employment.

    NAPA complies with all relevant health and safety legislation and provides a range of different safety related training to staff as appropriate to their job role.

Environment

  • NAPA Group is a world leading software house providing solutions for ship design and operation with the mission to improve safety and eco-efficiency of the global maritime industry. Environmental protection is in the core of our business.

  • Implementation

  • NAPA has developed several eco-efficiency solutions. For example,ClassNK-NAPA GREEN offers ship owners and operators a comprehensive solution to reduce fuel costs and emissions. It is a total solution for planning, monitoring and follow-up of ship operations. The solution uses an accurate dynamic performance model which is fine-tuned with advanced analysis of measured operational data. ClassNK-NAPA GREEN has been successfully tested and installed in several vessels. The first commercial installation was on Taiwan-based Wan Hai Lines' container vessel.

    In our internal operations we promote environmental protection by, e.g. focusing on energy efficient IT infrastructure and managing the life-cycle of our IT assets from purchase to recycling, with help of specialist vendors.

  • During the last year we have extended the usage of our asset management solution in order to increase the recycle rate of our end-of-life IT hardware. We have continuous reporting in place to track our assets in order to ensure the improvements also in the future.

Anti-Corruption

  • NAPA conducts all of its business in an honest and ethical manner. NAPA takes a zero tolerance approach to bribery and corruption and is committed to act professionally, fairly and with integrity in all its dealings.

  • NAPA fosters transparency in all of its operations, including customer, vendor and well as employee relationships. Reliability and trust are among our core values.   • NAPA has not had any corruption related issues in the past. Our finance organization continuously monitors the situation to ensure that the situation remains the same also in the future.
