    To our stakeholders:

    I am pleased to confirm that Idro Meccanica s.r.l. reaffirms its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.

    In this annual Communication on Progress, we describe our actions to continually improve the integration of the Global Compact and its principles into our business strategy, culture and daily operations. We also commit to share this information with our stakeholders using our primary channels of communication.

Human Rights
  • Assessment, policy and goals
  • Description of the relevance of human rights for the company (i.e. human rights risk-assessment). Description of policies, public commitments and company goals on Human Rights.

  • Idro meccanica shall influence all employees and business partners to respect the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, so we have set up our Code of Ethic and published it on our website and shown inside the Company in order to make our position clear for all our suppliers, customers, partners and employees.

  • We have sent to all our suppliers and partners a mail with our code of ethics to share the principles to which we adhere and that shall be followed also by everyone with whom we have business relationships, asking them to join or let us know if they had their own code of conduct.

  • Idro Meccanica take care of detecting from their partners and suppliers any human rights abuse and report them to our management in order to immediately stop working relationships.

Labour

  • Our employees are under contract according to national collective agreements and They are hired with a open-ended contract with higher salaries than basic pay.The company also encourages with an economic bonus their employees if important work projects are carried out in a good and timely manner.
    Moreover anyone has the freedom to join a Trade Union to protect their rights, even though our number of employees is not high enough to have a Union representative inside the company.
    We have also hired foreign employees and we work closely with many partners of other cultures.
    Before hiring a person we care that is in good standing with all medical visits or we will have them tested accordingly.

  • Every year we submit our employees to medical visit and all medical tests that their role in the company requires.
    To reduce labour risk our external Responsible for the Prevention and Protection Service (RSPP) comes different times during the year to check the state of the machinery and tools, workshop as well as the use of individual protection equipments (DPI) and every year Idro Meccanica gives new ones to each employee who should use them.
    Our internal workers responsible for safety (RLS),who every year follows an update course, relates with all employees to raise any questions and or suggestions and He gives them all necessary indication to work correctly both inside the workshop and outside on sites.
    Moreover this year Idro Meccanica sponsored a cycling team which includes an employee just to show the company's propensity towards a healthy lifestyle even outside the work.

  • We have registered 0 injuries from 2009.
    Idro Meccanica has made an employees survey, which we repeat every year, on their work satisfaction, to be delivered anonymously. The employee satisfaction survey is 3.5 on a 1-5 scale, where 5 is the best possible.
    The company also made the evaluation on "work-related stress" already in 2010 whose indicators resulted in low risk.
    The "work-related stress" survey result is less than 25%(low risk).
    Idro Meccanica,that has agreements with big company which comply with the U.S. Conflict Minerals disclosure law, sent to all raw material suppliers a "conflict mineral survey" in order to clarify if their components and/or materials contain Tin, Tantalum, Tungsten or Gold (3TG) and in this case to trace them to their source smelters (to check if their origin is in the Democratic Republic of Congo or an adjoining country). Every supplier sent us a source materials declaration, to confirm all know materials origin.

Environment

  • Idro Meccanica recognizes the usefulness and need for enviromentally friendly technologies.The company started to eliminate in time all means of pollution or damaging the environment.
    Idro meccanica is moving towards enviromental certifications and the first step was to carry out an environmental audit to better understand what are the steps to do during the years.
    Idro meccanica products are used in alternative energy and alternative fuels sector.

  • We started since a few years ago a separated waste collection, both inside the company and at customers' sites.
    In the office we print only necessary documents,trying to save all files on our server or on our file management system. Every mail sent by the company has the symbol:"print only if necessary".
    The company has planned to change all office windows glasses in the next years in order to save more energy and consequently to reduce the polllution due to heating/ cooling. The heating system was upgraded to a lower consumption one.

  • Every year Idro Meccanica sends to the local waste collection company the report on the weight of different waste collected and we try to improve this result every year.
    We will repeat our environmetal survey on a yearly basis with an external auditor.
    Moreover, thanks to Company propaganda on environmental issues, a lot of our employees/ workers have choosen to buy for their family a CNG car.

Anti-Corruption

  • Idro Meccanica has a zero-tolerance policy for corruption, bribery and extortion, in fact none associated with the company may offer, pay, promise or receive any bribe or illecit payment,anywhere in the world.

  • Idro meccanica internal memos and external agreements and transactions must be made available to colleagues and the management. Undisclosed agreements are strictly forbidden.

  • The manager of idro meccanica often check company books and accounts together with the administration office.
    The legal documents which can give evidence of our regularity, like DURC,Pending Proceedings declaration, antimafia declaration and so on have always been issued without comments.
    Idro Meccanica have never been involved in any legal cause.
