Forum Barcelona, a public-private partnership to advance sustainable development and peace-building, has announced its support of the Global Compact and the establishment of a Global Compact Centre in Barcelona, Spain. The Centre will be established under the auspices of the Forum 2004 Foundation, the UN Global Compact and several Spanish Business Schools - ESADE, IESE and Instituto de Empresa.
Working with the various Global Compact country networks around the world to increase the understanding, adoption and implementation of the Global Compact’s ten princples, the Centre will aim
• to become a meeting point for Global Compact networks, for the exchange of experiences and best practices, and to convene an annual GC network meeting in Barcelona;
• to foster research and promote the sharing of applied knowledge, with a strong emphasis on the issues relevant to ten principles of the Global Compact; and
• to disseminate information related to corporate social responsibility among organizations worldwide.
