The Global Compact Office, together with its partners Instituto ETHOS and Fundacao Dom Cabral, will hold its third Annual Learning Forum Meeting in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, on 9/11 December 2003. The meeting is expected to attract a diverse range of stakeholders, including companies, business and labour organizations, civil society, academics, UN agencies and governments.
One of the overriding themes of the meeting will be partnerships for development, exploring ways in which business can contribute to the overall goal of poverty reduction utilizing the Global Compact’s principles. Another special focus will be understanding the human rights principles and a precautionary approach to the environment. The meeting will feature plenary sessions, working groups and a variety of business case study presentations, offering an in-depth look at the implementation of the principles. In addition, the Annual Learning Forum Meeting will host the Latin America regional meeting on Supply Chain Management.
