(Athens, 6 May 2014) – Today, the award ceremony for the 1st Student Contest for CSR "Nikos Analytis," was held at the European Parliament Information Office in Athens. The Student Contest was organized by the Hellenic Network for Corporate Social Responsibility (HNCSR) and Global Compact Network Hellas, in collaboration with the Athens University of Economics & Business, and with the support of the European Parliament Information Office and the Representation of European Commission in Greece.
The contest recognizes the high importance of education to the development of responsible entrepreneurship, and having as primary goal a systematic integration of CSR into Greek Universities’ curricula. This new competition gave young people the opportunity to engage with the meaning and the contribution of CSR, in developing sustainable entrepreneurship in Greece and focused on three dynamic sectors of the Greek economy: agricultural production, tourism and shipping.
Submissions came from student groups, derived from a wide range of High and Higher Institutes of the country. The evaluation of their work was carried by eminent representatives of academia and the business community and was completed in April 2014.

The three winning teams will represent Greece at the European Youth Event 2014 (EYE2014), which will take place in Strasbourg 9-11 May 2014. The EYE2014 is the largest meeting of young people from across Europe and is part of the annual celebrations of Europe Day (9 May). The event aims to provide a forum of expression for the new generation, where, through the exchange of ideas and innovative approaches to key issues, will emerge ideas for the future of Europe.
