Diversity within the company: the program implemented by Carrefour in France in 2006

The Carrefour comprises 140,514 employees in France, whose cultural and social diversity reflects the society in which the Group operates. As a socially responsible corporate citizen, in 2004, the Carrefour group signed the Cororate Diversity Charter, which commits it not to apply any discriminatory policy upon hiring or at any time during a carreer. A number of countries in the Group have lauched programs to make sure that this commitment is turned into a reality. In 2006, France hypermarkets have particularly focused on this issue and conducted a "Diversity Audit" which was followed by the launch of a wide "Diversity program".
