The Global Compact Annual Review 2008 takes stock of the broad array of efforts undertaken by business participants and other key stakeholders to advance the principles of the Global Compact. Featuring the results of our annual survey of business participants, information is provided on key actions and depth of engagement in each issue area. With over 700 survey responses from 90 countries, we believe it is one of the largest global surveys on corporate responsibility to date.

2007 Global Compact Leaders Summit Meeting Report and DVD

The 2007 Global Compact Leaders Summit, the largest event ever organized by the UN on the topic of corporate citizenship, gathered more than 1,000 Chief Executives, Government Ministers and Heads of Civil Society and Labour Organizations. The report summarizes the discussions and outcomes of the summit, while the DVD presents a comprehensive documentation of the Summit, including a video archive of speeches and presentations, studies and reports, major initiatives as well as an extensive library of photographs .

An international taskforce on SMEs and corporate citizenship, consisting of experts from companies, Global Compact focal points and other relevant organizations, have reviewed existing material on the implementation of the Global Compact principles and the work of SMEs and produced these operational guidelines for medium-sized enterprises. The Global Compact Leaders Summit 2004 - Final Report

Consultation draft; A Guide for Integrating Human Rights into Business Management

This guide is an online tool produced jointly by the Business Leaders Initiative on Human Rights (BLIHR), the UN Global Compact and the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). The guide offers practical guidance to companies wanting to take a proactive approach to human rights and is of use primarily to business leaders and managers in large and medium-sized enterprises, private and state-owned. The publication is open for an initial consultation period until 30 June 2009.

Principles for Responsible Investment

There is a growing view among investment professionals that ESG issues affect the performance of investment portfolios. Investors fulfilling their fiduciary (or equivalent) duty therefore need to give appropriate consideration to these issues, but to date have lacked a framework for doing so. The Principles for Responsible Investment, jointly developed by a group of the world's largest institutional investors, provide this framework. The principles are voluntary and aspirational. They are not prescriptive, but instead provide a menu of possible actions for incorporating ESG issues into mainstream investment decision-making and ownership practices.
